Had a great time in Marrakech. Hotel was good although drinks were slightly expensive. Food was good on most evenings and breakfast was good every day. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and more than adequate, although not quite 5 star.
The guide organised by the hotel for the Historic tour was fabulous and took us (two ladies) into places that we may not have ventured alone.
Overall had a great holiday, and for the price was excellent.
P.S If you are the nice french man who spoke to me as leaving the hotel at 7am on 22 Oct 07, and again at the airport before you boarded the 8.50 flight to Paris (Orly) I came after you to exchange email addresses but I was too late!!

Stayed for three nights in October. Located in a quiet area of Hivernage about 20 / 30 minutes walk from Jemaa El Fna (old town) and the same again to Gueliz (new town)

On arrival found the reception staff friendly and helpful and concierge were able to offer maps and help on where to visit.

Hotel is set within nice grounds with large swimming pool in centre surrounded by nice gardens. Pool staff were helpful bringing sunbed matresses and towels.

No complaints about the room, very clean and spacious with fresh towels everyday - with view across pool area.

Breakfast was buffet style with wide range from pastries, cooked, fruit and cereals and pancake making lady - she may be tucked away so try not to miss her! Only complaint could make is that staff can't cope with clearing tables quicker enough!

On our last day we had a late flight to the UK so we had to check out by 12, however we asked whether there would be a room to take a shower later in the day so we could stay around the pool which they provided.

Overall we had an excellent stay at the hotel and would definately recommend and Marrakech is a wonderful city.

The location, outside scenery, and most meal options were satisfactory.

The use of computers in the lobby is expensive and very, very, very slow=up to five minutes waiting to be connected- slow motion, and very costly to do the minimum E mail checking, etc.

My main problem was that valuable shoes sent to me at the hotel, express, were stolen when they arrived by mail. This theft at reception was bad enough, but the personnel made little to no effort to cooperate or communicate. I did receive one message suggesting that I send close to $200.00 for the hotel to mail them to me in California. I wonder what would have happened to this money had I sent it.

The hotel is located in a residential and quiet part of Marrakech. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the city centre. The buildings are located around a central garden with a nice swimming pool. We planned to stay for a week but after 5 days we left as we didn’t want to stay longer. Staff is unfriendly and simply doesn’t want to help. If you ask at the front desk where something is located the only anwer they know is ‘take a taxi’ even if you tell them that you want to walk. We asked f.e for a real Moroccan all female hammam and the answer was again ‘take a taxi to the Hilton’.

The room was dated, AC not working very well, 2 lights were not working and because of that it was nearly impossible to read in the evening. We asked at least 5 times to repair it but nothing happened. Every day we had to kill cockroaches in the bathroom. If you want to use the inroom safe you have to pay extra per day for its use! Wireless internet in the room was working fine, but after three days it just stopped although we paid for a week.

Breakfast and evening dinner are buffet style, but if you come a bit later for dinner half of the food has gone and it is not replaced. Staff at breakfast and dinner is extremely unattentive and they just don’t want to look at you to see if you need something. Several times we were not able to get our drinks before lunch fininshed. The excursions from the hotel are extremely expensive.

All in all this is by far not a 4-star hotel, and there is a big problem with the staff.

I have just returned from this hotel (with five friends) and feel that some of the comments are not really justified. No, it's not like a five star hotel here, but it was clean, the beds were comfy and the staff helpful.
The pool and surrounding area was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away, which we only did for lunch! Breakfast was yummy. There is a selection of hot food, fresh fruit, cereal and pastries.
Went out for dinner and can recommend two fantastic restaurants. Le Foundouk and Le Comptoir. Both were absolutely beautiful and served local dishes (which were scrummy) Le Comptoir had belly dancers from 10.30pm, which if you are after a giggle, is a must! Cost is reasonable, roughly about £25, but we did have a lot to eat and drink!!! Best to book a table if you can.
The taxis are interesting, but if you speak French, then you should be ok. Had a disagreement with ours and ended up driving round for ages and visiting two of his friend’s shops. Not exactly what we asked for, so please ensure you know where you are going and the exact price. The tourist police are wonderful and there are quite a few around. Ours was a great help and very sweet!!!

The Spa is out of this world, although probably not for people who are body conscious! Had a fantastic treatment and massage, which was much cheaper than at home and equally as good, if not better.
Overall I would say this is a good hotel (at a very good price) and well worth a visit.

PS There are a few shops at the airport and tons when you check in, but get there early as passport control takes ages!
