“No better place for a honeymoon! Can't wait to go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2010

My husband and I got married on December 4th and decided to go to Morocco for our honeymoon. When we arrived at Maison Arabe, we couldn't stop smiling - it was romantic and beautiful on every level, and in every sense. From the amazing room with fireplace and balcony to the wonderful breakfast poolside and the delightful heated pool, to the gorgeous and sexy hammam and jazz bar, we are planning to try and come back every year on our anniversary. The staff were all kind and extremely accommodating and the location was terrific. We can't say enough extraordinary things about this place and are so happy it was part of our honeymoon.

From the time we got to the riad to the taxi leaving we were greeted with the best service you could imagine! The small riad is home to a maze of winding stairs with two great restaurants, enchanting live music, and memories you won't forget! After having a great meal one of the nights, we decided we wanted to have the tea back in our room. After asking if the tea in our room was possible, the server replied, "For you, all is possible!" (We decided that was the motto at this riad!) We left the restaurant, then noticed one of the servers at the restaurant door waiting for us to leave to follow us with tea and cookies. We arrived to the room and to our surprise noticed for the second time in one day the room was cleaned! After we sat down to enjoy our tea we busted out laughing because we really did feel like a king and queen!

The riad does have a really nice hammam, but is very pricy. The hammam (spa) is something you absolutely have to experience! Just look in some guide books to tell you the best one to go to!

Walking distance to the medina was not bad at all and we found it very safe! There is not much nightlife we found outside the riad, but the riad is complete with a piano bar and plenty of room to enjoy the riad and friends at night.

Having never dreamed of going to Marrakesh, I can safely say it was an experience and this hotel was the best part of it all. Set down an unassuming alley way, you walk through a beautiful doorway into an delightful reception area and then it only gets better - a beautiful restraunt by the pool, the jazz bar, the Morrocan restraunt, the hamman, the staff - I could go on and on about the place but in short it is a magnificent place to stay.

My partner and I did the cookery course, which is a must. A tour around the local souks and then making new foods was excellent. Aida and Mohammed, the chef, were brilliant and Mohammed spoke in more excellent english than I.

If you want a luxurious yet unassuming place to stay, then this is it. The staff are polite, accomodating and most of all lovely, with no request to much. Also if you have the opportunity, there hamman is glorious and a true taste of luxury.

My husband and I attended a half day cookery course at Maison Arabe. It starts with an introduction to Morrocan cuisine followed by 45 mins out and about visiting a local bakery and spice store. You then head to the kitchen to cook your own fabulous chicken tagine and two different Moroccan salads. All of the instruction is given in French and English. Whilst things are cooking you are given more information and the chef demonstrates a few extra dishes. You then head off to sit in the courtyard by the pool and enjoy the delicious lunch you have made. You get complimentary water and dessert plus are given a lovely tagine dish to take home. There were eight people on our course, 4 english speakers and 4 french ( 6 female, 2 male). It started at 10am and we were still there at 3.30pm enjoy a chat and drink with some of the other attendees.

The course ( everything included) cost us 500dh - about £40 per person which we felt was excellent value.

We were also given a tour of the hotel and returned that night to the jazz bar, where you can enjoy live music, tapas and wonderful cocktails.

Great course in a stunning hotel. Also a really good way for solo travellers to meet new people.

I didn't actually stay at this hotel but wanted to learn more about Moroccan cuisine. The tour agency we used set me up for a one-to-one cooking lesson with Chef Mohammed Nahir at the La Maison Arabe. The teaching kitchen is beautiful and fully equipped for up to 10 students! After a quick review of the basic ingredients used in Moroccan food, Chef Mohammed and I took a walk to a nearby spice shop to get a first hand look and sniff at the fresh spices. I had to have just a few!! Back in the kitchen, Chef Mohammed and his sous chef taught me, step by step, to make a basic tajine and some fresh salads to go with it. I learned a few new skills and now can't wait to make these dishes for my family and friends!

I surprised my daughter with a trip to Marrakech. Being two blonde females, we played safe and stayed in an all americanised RIU..big mistake! The Riu was "OKAY", but La Maison Arabe was our home:)
We had pre arranged a hammam here, followed by lunch and a cookery school. What a wonderful place. I can only compare it to exotic boutique hotels we have stayed in in Kenya. This beautiful gem is simply a palace! Having had our hammam, which was the best bonding duaghter and I have had, we went to beautiful lunch, then cookery school. For us, we just had to keep going back. Despite being in an all inclusive hotel, we dined more in Maison Arabe. It was Maison Arabe who arranged a local guide for us, and also Maison Arabe who had our custom for the best part of our stay. Fanida if you meet her, she is a treasure!!! I LOVED this rhiad, its just one of those places you know you will return to. Thank you to the beautiful staff, exquisite surroundings, gastronomic food, oh...and Mohammed and Ida our chefs from the cookery school...just treasures. Love you guys, you are on our DEF RETURN list!!!
