“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

For the price you get good staff (Abdel was great), unlimited Tea (which you need to have while in Marrakech), free breakfast (which was very basic: freshly squeezed orange juice, an assortment of breads or pastries, jams, etc), and an excellent location. Abdel was watching the Riad while Jean-Christoph (owner) was away for that week. He was the only staff there for most of our stay but still managed to be extremely nice and accommodating. He also did his best to help my friend and I when our plans suddenly changed and we ended up departing the Riad a few days early.

Room Tip: The ground floor room gets noise from the kitchen and common spaces so try to get rooms on the balco...

We spent 4 nights in this lovely little riad and felt right at home. The centre of Marrakesh is only a short walk away but you can leave the noise and throng behind and enjoy the sunset on the roof terrace. Everyone working in this riad is really doing a great job from organizing the airport shuttle, arranging a nice breakfeast, keeping the rooms tidy and finally giving good advice about bargaining in the streets and shops of Marrakesh. Best greetings to Jean Christophe, hopefully we'll see him and his riad again.

Stayed here for a girls long weekend in Marrakech. Riad was lovely and authentic, central and staff were very friendly and hepful. Amazing value for money. Beds in our room were either a bit too soft or too hard but had plenty of room for 3 people and plenty of hot water. Beds made and fresh towels each day. Riad helped book restaurants and taxi's for us and showed us how to get to the main square and souks, etc. Given the lay-out of riads having rooms around a central courtyard, noise can travel but i'm sure that's the case in all Riads! Fab roof terraces. They also sold drinks (including alcohol which is not available everywhere) and an evening meal was availabIe to book if you wanted to eat in. Breakfast each morning was basic but good - can't expect more for your money. I would definately come back here and would recommend it to others.

Myself and my friend arrived late evening and were met by Jean-Christophe. As two female travellers, having followed him round a dark maze of cobbled streets, we were wary! We arrived at the Riad and were met by authentic Moroccan furnishings and were very pleasantly surprised. What a fab stay we had. Nothing was too much trouble, maps, advice, food and drinks all at hand. Rooms were clean and authentic. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful every day and at request we even had breakfast served early one morning as we were going on a day trip. Jean-Christophe is a very nice man and always happy to help with any query that you may have. The location of the Riad is great and walking distance to everywhere. Definitely recommend this Riad,we will be returning without a doubt. Excellent is the best word to describe Riad Jade Or.

Prior to arrival I really wasn't expecting much as the price was in the lower bracket and after all you do get what you pay for... In this instance we got beyond that. Admittedly when we first arrived we were put in a room on the ground floor which was damp - we spoke to the manager Jean Christophe the next day who already knew what our problem would be. He moved us immediately to the adjoining Riad (Riad 107) as his Riad was fully booked and the next day work started to rectify the damp problem in the room. Both Riads were beautifully decorated, clean and extremely friendly. Beds were comfortable, showers hot and breakfast fine although I would prefer more fruit to bread but that is personal taste and I am sure if I had asked they would have made every effort to supply this. The situation is also perfect within the medina and only 5 mins walk from the main Jeema el Fna square yet tranquility at it's best.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Very comfortable, brand new facilities and chic styling. European quality standards. great terrace with views and chillout sofas in the shade.

The only but, is that although the Riad is rather chic, in my opinion its decoration is a little bit impersonal for Moroccan standards.

It's quite well located but, as there are no signs on the streets you will need a map to arrive to the riad. There is a square with a public parking nearby where you can leave your car.

Riad Jade Or is a lovely little riad, tucked off a side street about 5 minutes walk from the main square Jeema el Fna. So, you are close to the heart of old Marrakesh.
The manager, Jean Christophe couldn't be more helpful and attentive.
Our room was very clean, comfortable beds and a great power shower.
Breakfast was lovely, with freshly squeezed Origen juice waiting for us every morning along with lovely fresh bread and pancakes.
The only piece of advice I would give about this hotel is that its situated down along a dark alley, about 2 minutes walk from the main streets, so it is not the safest place to get to/from in the dark if travelling as single females. Otherwise - it's great!
