The feedback I had read on tripadvisor gave me the confidence in booking this tour with Rashid. I'd been in touch with him prior to arriving in Marrakech and confirmed booking when we got there. We'd originally arranged to do the tour on the first day of our trip but ended up doing it on day three which was well worthwhile.
Rashid came to our riad to pick us up and was extremely punctual. He negotiated the taxi fare to the El Bahia Palace and kept up a steady stream of chatter between us and the taxi driver.
During the tour he was informative, about the areas we were visiting and life in Marrakech in general. He gave us lots of useful hints and tips for coping with the chaos in the souks, negotiating prices and what we should expect to pay. He liked to be asked questions and was incredibly personable.
The tour was three and a half hours long (possibly due to him being so easy to talk to) but we did stop halfway through for freshly squeezed orange juice and cakes.
The tour doesn't take you shopping but will help you find your way round the maze of the souks. We visited areas we would never have seen without him and it helped us navigate our way round the maze!!!
We also booked a day trip to the Atlas Mountains through Rashid. He arranged for a driver to pick us up, take us to a Berber village market, a Berber house, an Argan Oil Co-operative then on to the mountains and the Ouzoud Falls. Again the guide was friendly and informative and made us feel very comfortable.
Definitely money well spent. It might seem a little excessive but we got a lot more from our visit from doing the tour than we ever would from going it alone.
