“Great Location, and Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I had an absolutely amazing time staying at Riad Amlal. We were originally only supposed to stay there 2 nights, but had such a great time that we stayed an extra night. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They were more than eager to get anything we needed for us, as well as show us around town and recommend places to go/see. The group I was with also did the 3 day, 2 night desert tour. The tour was extremely fun, and quite an experience. I have never had more fun on a trip in my life, and it was mostly because of the staff at Riad Amlal, and the places they took us. I would absolutely go back, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in going to Morocco.

Wonderful and affordable riad! Mustapha and Farid were so friendly and welcoming and treated us and our children like family. We were picked up from the airport, they went out of their way to even order us dinner the first night as customs took forever and our children were very hungry! The rooms and the interior courtyard are nicely decorated and comfortable and the atmosphere cannot be beat. We easily walked to the local attractions and had no trouble finding great food all around. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Nice Riad in quite place of Medina. Friendly guys from reception will help you if you have some 'special wishes'. Actually I cannot complain about anything and I can recommend you to stay in there if you want to spend few days in Marrakech and be 15mins away from the main square.

A friend and I stayed at this riad in early June 2014 - overall very pleased!
Pro's: Beautiful designs, very helpful staff, very clean rooms - each bed came with a towel, room had air con, good showers, option of going on day trips.
Con's: The downstairs room is very dark - you have to open all the doors onto the main communal area to get enough light in, and it is almost impossible to find on your own - if you plan to go by taxi, fine - if you plan to walk there on your own, the directions provided in the booking are not great - you will likely need to phone someone from the riad to come and meet you!

Short: clean friendly cheap lovely staff very nice place!!

we had a reservation for 3days doble room. We were welcomed very nice with a cup of tea and got a map marked with some places to visit. Staff was very friendly and they offered us a tour to the desert but also told us if we d like to go with a other agency they would help us find one. Finally we went with their agency moroccan nature trail. The trip was just amazing. The riad it self is very clean and a lovely place. we felt very welcome and ended up staying 5 nights more than planned...rooms are very nice (first we had a dobleroom downstairs then dobleroom upstaires..afterwards we changed to the dorm upstairs and the last three nights dorm downstairs:) so we can tell...after stayed in every room: all of them are really nice!!!hot shower, own towel very clean!!if you want some privacy ask for a room in the 1floor!!! All in all the riad amlal is a Perfect place to meet new people have fun and get to know marrakech out of normal touristic sight!!(location is about 10 to 15min from jemaa el fna) also staff is very happy to help you with everything, they have a reeeally nice roofterrace and if your lucky there will be the best breakfast ever :) thank you hicham mustapha farid and all of you guys for a very nice stay in marrakech!!!!

room at ground floor is dark and ugly. it's very noisy, especially because staff is listening to loud music at night, even though they know you are in the room. speakers are attached at the door, so if you want to rest its impossible! shower pressure is very weak, if someone is using hot water in the kitchen, only few drops are coming out. staff is smoking and eating on the sofas all day long. looks like you disturb them if you go asking for something. you have to pay for laundry facilities, but depend who you are talking with, the price is changing. we have been offered a desert trip witch was 70 euros more expensive than other agencies prices. that's a rip off!!! towels have stains and the bed cover was dirty, like someone dropped hot chocolate (hopefully). we could stand all the issues, but not the unfriendly staff. we didn't feel welcomed at all.
