“simple seafood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We sought out the restaurant after reading the other reviews that are here on TA.

I have to say, if this was the BEST food you had in Marrakech, you should try stepping out from McDonalds every now and again and try some proper food.

Whilst the seafood is fresh and well cooked, the battered mixed platter is just that, a plate of battered stuff with little taste and variety.

Better to have the seafood grilled, then it's OK, but no better than any host of simple seafood places around the world.

Service was prompt and not pushy, price was reasonable.

But really people, the best food meal you had in Marrakech.......rolling my eyes......

“It's a matter of expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Loved the local vibe and the people and, yes, you can eat a great deal of seafood for very little money, but we didn't find it as "fresh" as reported here - not by a long shot, which was disappointing. For us it's quality over quantity. Maybe lunch is a better idea than dinner, particularly when the weather is very warm.

“Cheap excellent seafood!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

A very basic, quick place to get a great selection of local fish! We went for the mixed plate which was delicious and was amazing value for money. It's great to eat with the locals and not feel like you're getting ripped off. Definitely worth a visit if you're staying in Gueliz!

“Freshness of the product is the key”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

If you don't like to see locals eating while sometimes smoking, if you don't like tiny tables, if you don't like cut papers instead of napkins, don't go there.
But if you do like fresh fish and seafood grilled to your taste, simplicity and good prices, local ambiance, definitely this is your place!
Fascinating seafood on ice, simple tastes, basically you can choose between grilled fish/seafood or a fritto misto - a mixed fried fish platter with shrimps and cuttlefish. All come with saffron rice, marinated olives and two types of local harissa-like sauce.
And all at a very-very competitive price! I had a grilled spiny lobster and a cuttlefish with a big bottle of mineral water and paid MAD 116, which means about 10 euros!
Is it a fair price?

“Fantastic seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Best restaurant we visited in Marrakech by a country mile. Fantastic seafood and brilliant prices. Didn't rate the Lonely Planet guide on the whole but this recommendation was spot on. We had a kilo of langoustines, a kilo of calamari and half a kilo of sole for about MAD 380 (GBP 28 approx). Fish was super-fresh and superbly cooked.
