Had the opportunity to visit Le Carioca last night as had always wanted to sample the Brazilian-styled restaurant that opened just over a year ago. Unfortunately it appears to have changed hands very quickly. There is no Brazilian menu anymore, there is obviously a new chef and it serves exactly the same kind of food as can be found in countless other Marrakech restaurants nearby - a mix of French and Moroccan, plus burgers. I had also hoped there would be Latin music (as originally offered when it first opened), but instead an over-loud live singer performing Eagles and Ronan Keating covers to backing tracks. So alas, all the special elements that had been so promising when this place first opened are gone. But on the plus side, you can just go in for a drink or cocktail and smoke a shisha pipe. The margarita was good (80dhs).
