“A riad oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

Riad Africa was my home in Marrakech last week, and it was such a joy to spend time in this lovely environment. As soon as I arrived, the staff made me feel comfortable and welcome. My room was beautiful and relaxing, and was a wonderful home base to return to each evening after a long day exploring Marrakech. The staff were brilliant and always ready to help, and the room was kept absolutely spotless for the duration of my stay. The riad was a quiet, cool oasis in the Marrakech heat and bustle, and I really felt like I had found a home away from home here. I stayed in the Zambezi suite which had a real African charm with relaxing colors and beautiful furnishings. Overall excellent!

We stayed last week in this beautiful riad, a really convenient location and a beautiful Riad, sitting by the pool relaxing was a joy, as were lazy evenings on the huge roof terrace sipping tea in a desert tent....bliss .
Well appointed, the riad has in in house Hammam, and the Massage was superb .

We stayed for 6 nights in April at Riad Africas Lalibela Suite and had a wonderful time. The room was amazing and very clean. It offered privacy which was ideal for our family of 3 young children and the private roof terrace was an added bonus!
The staff were all very helpful and friendly and were very welcoming. Laila and Hanane prepared delicious breakfasts for us and also cleaned the rooms thoroughly on a daily basis. Oussama and Mohammed were on hand for any queries and were always happy to help.
The location is excellent and the whole riad is maintained to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend this place to future visitors!

Room Tip: Lalibela Suite is a great private room for families with children.

I cannot praise this lovely riad and courteous staff highly enough - Riad Africa was everything we hoped for and more. The rooms were elegant and spotlessly clean, the public areas were beautiful and the staff were incredibly attentive. We are three ladies who stayed for a week in April, and we were very sorry to leave! The Manager, Oussama, could not be more helpful - and it was hugely reassuring to know he was always on hand and anticipating any and every need! The breakfasts were delicious - such a wonderful way to begin the day, on the sunny roofterrace. The only noise inside the riad is birdsong - although you are in such a central location, it is an oasis of tranquility. My only suggestion would be for brighter lighting in the rooms - ours didn't have much natural light, but the electric lights were also very dim. Brighter bulbs or lamps would be great when spruceing oneself up - but this is really a very minor quibble compared to the rest of the fantastic experience.

Service in this 8-room riad would make anyone want to go back. It starts with the reservation which couldn't have been smoother. My last-minute reservation was handled efficiently and the owner answered all of my e-mail inquiries in under an hour. Service is also first and foremost on the manager's mind: Oussama answered my late-night phone calls, made sure that my airport pickup was there at 4 in the morning and set my mind at ease after a mishap with Royal Air Maroc. The rest of the staff is at your beck and call anytime you need them - without ever being overbearing. They made my stay in Marrakesh pleasant and memorable.

The charm of Riad Africa will transport you back in time but without the loss of comfort that is associated with quirkier locations. I had breakfast on the riad's sunny roof every day while birds were chirping in the background. The rooms are decorated using various themes with the one used in the room that I stayed in being solidly anchored in Africa.

The location couldn't have been better. Just a three-minute walk from the taxi drop-off and only a 5-minute walk from the heart of the city. The neighborhood is clean and quiet, but within a stone's throw from the action.

And if you need something (within reason), ask for it. The staff will make sure that you'll get it.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in February. It has only recently been opened for business and clearly great care has been taken to make it a wonderful place to stay. It's wonderfully appointed with a superb location, the food is delicious (the dinner we had in one night was great) and the staff couldn't be friendlier and more attentive. What really made the trip special for us was the expert knowledge the manager Tod had in making recommendations on where we should go. Nothing was too much trouble for him and every piece of advice was spot on. Lovely roof terrace to chill out on and have breakfast, and what breakfasts! You get the works! The dinner was also amazing.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a friend.

We were a large group of ladies who booked the entire Riad, everyone in the party were amazed by the Riad which exceeded our expectations. We were made to feel most welcome by the staff who were on hand to assist with our every need. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and in a traditional Morroccan style.

There is a beautiful roof terrace for relaxing and enjoying the sun and also a large indoor communal area where we could sit and eat and drink together.

The staff ensured we felt safe and were guided anywhere we needed to go particularly after dark and during the day the Riad is just a short walk to the bustle of the market square.

We had a wonderful trip and wouldn't hesitate to return.
