“Beautiful trip to Morocco!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Fantastic 3 day trip from Marrakesh to Merzouga and back. Joussef is an enthusiastic guide and has the passion to tell you all about his culture, history and the way of life in Morocco. I was fascinated by his stories and he made us feel safe and well taken care off during the whole trip. Besides this he made sure we had a safe journey crossing the Atlas mountains, by driving carefull! A warm, friendly, funny and inspiring person and guide! well recomended!

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

We had a simply fabulous time with Joussef and Hassan. We spent 3 days, traveling from Fes, to Merzouga, then throught he Dade Valley to Marrakech. Jousseff has awesome road trip music (!!!) and Hassan never tired of our random questions on Moroccon history, politics, culture and the like. We learned so much about the country, feasted like royalty, and took about 3,000 pictures. Spectacular views, food and cultural experience in desert. The hotel in the valley was amazing, btw. We miss you guys - thank you so much for an action-packed itinerary and all the hospitality.

“Amazing desert tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

We had an unforgettable 4 days desert tour with Touareg Trail! We found this based on Tripadvisor’reviews, and think it’s time to share our wonderful experience with people who are looking to see the REAL Morocco!

Good experience started from our booking via email. Youssef (our guide+driver) gave prompt response and explained the itinerary in details which make us feel comfortable.

The itinerary itself is terrific! Adding the standard route (Marrakech to Dades Valley, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, Ourzazate, Todgha gorges, Merzouga, then Fes), the part we like best is the off-road driving which make Touareg Trails stands out! It’s authentic. We enjoyed a natural lunch picnic in the virgin desert, visited some nomads and berber families in Sahara desert. Youssef even brought us to his family in the village and auntie prepared delicious homemade Moroccan couscous for us. The hospitality is fantastic. The camp site at Sahara surprised us too. It’s absolutely clean, well equipped. We enjoyed a fun camp fire with Youssef and the crew with African drum and music!

Youssef is a knowledgeable & enthusiastic guide. You can feel his passion toward the desert and berber culture! He gave whole hearted service, and put every effort to make our trip perfect! He’s a safe driver too, we had a comfy 4 days ride with the 4x4 car. More, Youssef is a friendly and funny person, you will not stop laughing when he’s there..LOL.. He does feel like a friend by the end of the 4 days trip!!

“Absolutely Terriffic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We booked a 4 day trip with Touareg Trails April 6-9 from Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains, through the Dades Valley, then off into the desert to Erg Chebbi, and finally to Fes.

Our guide/driver, who became our friend over the 4 days, Youssef put together an incredible trip. My wife and I spent 4 unforgettable days with Youssef. He taught us about Morocco, about what we were seeing, and about Berber culture. We talked and laughed and joked - "Mon Deux Les Dunes - became an inside joke that we laughed about the rest of the trip after the desert.

Youseff is very knowledgeable, very open, friendly. He is a very safe driver. It is hard to pick a highlight as all was excellent but I think visiting his family in the desert after a great day of off road driving was the best. We had tea with his Auntie and then to his family village where we stayed in their guesthouse. Being out in the desert the night stars were amazing, the tagine excellent...and Youseff and his younger brothers and friends treated us to some Berber music with drums and guitar.

Of course the camel riding at Erg Chebbi was terriffic and Touareg sets you up with a good outfitter who offers a small intimate camp with about 8 people maximum - some camps have more than 50 people.

At the end of our 4 day trip in Fez we were all quite sad it was all over. Big hugs and "keep in touch habibi" were exchanged. We hope Youseff comes to visit us at our home in Cairo...especially if he realizes his dream of driving around the whole continent of Africa.

I would highly recommend Touareg Trails to anyone. Look no further.
