“Finally found it on our last day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

I had a photo copy of the TA review with me while trying to find this. I kept showing it to people that were very close to this shop, and they all told me it was "closed". Shop sellers like to tell people that the place you are looking for is closed so then you will stay where you are.

I finally showed it to someone who said I was standing in his store! He showed me his business card. There was no name of the shop in the front of the store, so it is hard to find. But it is bursting with things, most of which is beautiful old jewelry. Since he was getting ready to close, he wouldn't let me go upstairs to look. And I had to ask him 3 times to turn on the lights in the back of the store. Lots of fun to browse!!

“An Aladdin's Cave in the Medina”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2011

Situated on the popular route to Djemma el Fna from the north west on Rue Mouassine this shop/bazaar covers the ground and lower ground floors with a mezzanine showroom. In some places it can be a little difficult to manoever yourselves around the plethora of items on offer!

The ground floor has silver jewelry, often with semiprecious stones, Berber wedding necklaces in amber beads, many good luck symbols in the popular hand of Fatima design can be discovered too. There is also the chance to your own designs made up from a large selection of beads, silver spacers, agates and tourmalines, tigers' eye and beryl, and haematite and coral, amongst others

On the lower ground floor are mirrors, large and small, siver, wooden and hennaed camel bone. Items of furniture are displayed here too, with ceramic vessels and other decorative items. Upstairs the ceramics theme is continued with platters and plates, vases and bowls, from Safi, Fes and Marrakech itself.

The staff are multilingual and helpful and allow the traveller to browse in peace. Well worth a visit!
