One of the most beautiful hostel's I've ever been to with a very friendly host who knows how to treats his guests well. furthermore it is calm and has a good athmospehere all in the centre of Marrakech and for a good price. Thanks for the stay Jouet and hopefully I'll return soon!

Raid layla Rouge is a moroccan dream. Jawad and his staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. They offer you breakfast (whenever you get up), fresh daily towels, a plunge pool to cool off and cups of tea. I can't thank them enough for helping me enjoy my stay in Marrakech and get to my next destinations. Centrally located, hot showers, comfortable bed, friendly staff, and fun environment. One of the best places i've stayed. I hope to come back soon!

Room Tip: I stayed in the 8 bed ensuite and it was perfect. Nice clean, hot showers. Quiet with air conditione...

We stayed in three riads over the course of our two-week Moroccan adventure, and this one was by far the best. Colourful, welcoming, and with delicious breakfast every morning. The staff could not have been more helpful, even doing our laundry for us. The place has tons of character, some cute pet turtles living on the terrace roof, and is an oasis of calm amid the craziness of the surrounding souks. Highly recommended - we would certainly stay here again if we return to Marrakech.

Room Tip: The room on the main floor is the coolest (temperature-wise) but somewhat damp, and we preferred a s...

We had a fantastic stay Riad Layla Rouge. From the moment we arrived to when we left, we were always made feel very much at home and part of the family. Beautiful Riad & fantastic kind and sincere staff, who were always willing to help in any way. Thanks again, folks, for organising a wonderful day trip for us to the Ourika Valley - a great experience - and for all your help with our onward itinerary! Mint tea always available - and a great breakfast every morning on the terrace! Superb!

It was amazing stay! Actually one of the best hostels I've ever been, if not even the best! Very friendly staff, welcoming, helpful, and kind! Greeting you with mint tea anytime you want, very helpful in everything, they even get me to the normal cab in the morning when I was leaving, and haggle fee for me, so I payed only 50 Dh (totally not tourist rate)! Breakfast is huge and tasty, they have amazing rooms and common room and 2 level of terrace to chill out (beautiful place with family of turtles leaving there). You can use small swimming pool (size like Jacuzzi, but really helpful after day of wandering in the heat). I definitely recommend staying there for everyone, and totally will be back myself! And desin in this hostel is amazing! And one more thing! It is really great located, very easy (super useful in Marrakech!) to find, really close form Jemaa el Fna, so if you are tired of all this craziness you have few steps to rest in hostel.

Room Tip: Keep in mind that there is only one dorm, other rooms are double, so if you want huge partying group...

what a fantastic stay here at Layla Rouge, very friendly staff, especially Jawad :) the rooms are great, especially if you pay a little extra (as i did) for a private room. Air con, clean private bathroom and beautifully traditional. Brilliant location, 5 min walk to the bizaars and the main square, right in the thick of it in Marrakech. Great price and a wonderful way to finish our trip in Morocco, thank you everyone at Layla Rouge

Room Tip: I would suggest paying a little extra for a private room, the cost is inconsiderable, but the differ...

This is as far one of the best hostels I've ever been to ! I dont know many hostels in Morroco but I've been to many hostels in other parts of the world and never met more friendly staff !!! apart them, the location is perfect, 5 minutes through the souqs to the main square, rooms are basic but clean and nicely arranged, breakfast is bigger then you can eat, and you just can't drink all the tea you are offered during the day :)
Higly recomended !!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
1 Minute from Place D'Jeema el Fna in the centre of the souqs and possibly the first ever edible hostel riad. The free tea and cake – may stop you from trying to bite into the walls – or maybe not... Have a taste…Riad Layla Rouge breathes in the Mad Hatter’s tea party of colour that Marrakech conjures, and breathes out the nearby chaos – a gentler but still eccentric heartbeat. If Riad Layla Rouge could, it would cascade chocolate from the fountain in the courtyard, but the impact is truly mouth-watering nonetheless. Tea and cake, free all day – may stop you from biting into the walls – or maybe not…they may actually be edible. Only one minute from the main square, the 3 suites provide absolute privacy, the gorgeous mixed dorm encourages adventure sharing. All can enjoy the warm, communal atmosphere of the courtyard, Moroccan salon-dining room, and 2 flower and fruit tree draped roof terraces. All this enhanced by your own personal soundtrack with ipod speakers in each room. A small and perfectly formed family run riad in the centre of the souqs – Riad Layla Rouge breathes in the Mad Hatter’s tea party of colour and spices that Marrakech conjures, and breathes out the noise and craziness nearby – a gentler but still eccentric heartbeat. You cannot help but find your favourite colour here – by day Layla Rouge is a vase of flowers or a box of hand decorated chocolates, or an techni-flavour ice-cream stand; by night a treasure chest of glittering jewels, or a sparkling solar system. Use your imagination. Riad Layla Rouge wants you to get comfy in Marrakech; to feel safe and happy; imaginative and inspired – we combine a hostel spirit and atmosphere with that little bit of indulgence that you find in a luxury riad. Share your stories of travel and life. Laugh over tea and cake with other guests in our (almost) edible house. As the Mad Hatter said to Alice: ‘You could stay…What a mad, crazy, wonderful idea…’Whether you are travelling for the first time, or have done so for years – enjoy the rhythm of a city that transforms with the cycle of the sun. When you stay at Layla Rouge you can’t be anywhere else but the Wonderland of Marrakech. ... more   less
