From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff went out of their way to ensure we had good service and a good holiday. Nora at Guest Relations was very friendly and helpful. We booked a family room which consisted of a king size bed and a double bed through sliding wooden doors for our son. Our room was very clean and spacious, and the bathroom had a walk in shower room with a good shower. We also had a small balcony and chairs facing the back of the hotel.
The grounds of the hotel were very well maintained, and as it was so spacious, it felt very relaxing as the sunbeds were spaced out around the numerous pools. They also had the luxurious raised double sunbeds with cushions and sun canapés which were fabulous. All of the sunbeds were wooden and had thick mattresses so were very comfortable. There were a lot of activities for children, apart from the aqua park, with a kids club, crazy golf and play park. We stayed in December, and as none of the pools were heated, there were very few people in them as the water was so cold. The same for the waterpark. My son did venture on some of the slides, and really enjoyed them. What was great to see was a lifeguard at every pool and slide. I think there were 2 or 3 guys manning each slide as they opened different ones throughout the day. There are also indoor warmer pools which we used everyday to swim.
There was a great variety of food at every mealtime. At breakfast, there were freshly made pancakes and omelettes of choice. At lunch and dinner, there were a few restaurants to choose from and there was always a variety of meat and fish and lovely vegetables and salad and a wide selection of deserts and cakes. There was a pizza and pasta restaurant which cooked made to order pizzas and pasta in front of you. We stayed 5 days, but I can imagine it being a little repetitive if you stayed for longer.
The hotel complex is around half and hour from Marrakech, but the hotel offers a free shuttle bus twice a day to the main square which you book at guest relations. Taxis were 150/200 dirhams each way. They will try to charge more, but we asked at the hotel what the fare should be. The main square and souk is an experience not to be missed. Be prepared to haggle to a third of the price and say no.
The entertainments team worked hard throughout the day and evening offering various activities. The kids enjoyed the mini-disco every evening.
We had a lovely break, and will definitely return, but in the warmer months to make the most of the wonderful pools and waterpark. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to other families seeking a relaxing and fun break.
