Nice place, friendly staff. We went all inclusive to the resort at an off-season time. Plenty of staff working to the ratio of guests, but ended up waiting 2.5hrs waiting for bath towels, the receptionist seems to have no idea where room 4112 is. After calling Reception 9 times within that time frame I suggest any guest looking to stay here, bring your own selection of towels.

This hotel is not a 5 star by far!! It is nearly a 3 star hotel. I was in this hotel on 23th May and stayed only 1 night. I had contacted our travel agency and asked them to change us to another hotel. I have never seen this in my entire life. Bugs and ants all over the room and even in the beds of the kids. Food afwull and cold. No service at all. I can't understand the positive feedback on tripadvisor and I am sure that this is false. Please read the reviews on booking.com because there you can see how bad the hotel is. Before I went to this hotel I also read the reviews and thought that the negative comment wasn't tru but ooh I was wrong. We were lucky to go to another hotel Kenzi Club Agdal medina and we still had a good vacation. Kenzi was 5 star and couldn't be compared with the bad hotel Pickalbatros. I am myself morrocan living in Belgium and I was ashamed of Pickalbatros. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL if you want to enjoy your holiday. If you want a 2-star hotel then you will find your pleasure in this hotel

We booked this four night break (pretty much six days due to early arrival flight / late return flight) thorugh Citrus holidays for a decent price.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a rep on arrival who explained things and then we were taken to our room by one of the hotel staff.

Very large spacious room (1132) above the spa - not above the restaurant that we were told was noisy. Largest bed i have ever seen - no balcony but no a big problem as we had a table and chairs in the room. Few niggles with the room (pretty normal i think on a large complex such as this) - Door card stopped working / Toilet stick sticked quite bad / Shaving mirror hanging off the wall. Bathroom spacious and clean - shower ok, complete with soap dispensers but no shampoo so make sure you take your own. At the end of corridor so nice and quiet and a two minute walk right to the restaurant.

Very large site with spread out rooms - the 4000 rooms are right over the other side of the complex and a 10 minute walk to the restuarant / water park etc. - we did hear some bad reports about these rooms and people asking to move (no hot water etc.). There are 3 main pools, a quiet one over by the 4000 rooms and two other large pools before you even get to the waterpark. One by the reception - large shaded double loungers (could do with pillows though) - this is also favoured by the animation guys - more about them later. The third pool is by the restaurant / snack bar - this was nice and quiet when we were there and had easy access to drink & food! All of the pools are COLD - but this is not a bad thing when its 35 Degrees. The site has the most cleaners / floor moppers i have ever experienced and wherever you look someone is cleaning the public areas - overall the complex is very clean but a few of the pulic toilets could do with some TLC.

A massive array of slides for singles and double riders - very good and exciting. Do be careful though as the floors are very slippy and although the slides are mostly attended - they are now always! There are also loads of kids pools / slides. Very quiet when we were there but busier in the afternoons when the locals were in! The lazy river was the laziest i have ever used - no current so you had to paddle yourself around - took me approx 20 minutes - there was talk of a walk machine but i never saw it turned on.

There are 3 restaurants (but only really one building with 3 different parts / names). Overall the food was decent - a good mix of Moroccan food (via the tagines) / help yourself from the general food section and also freshly cooked pizzas / pitta breads etc plus a kids selection. Breakfast was normal continental selection plus omlette's / pancakes / crepes made to order after a bit of a queue. The snack bar was open for 2 hours at lunch time and did pizzas / burgers and chicken burgers - limited choice but i tried all three and they were all very nice! Drinks from all of the restaurants were self serve for the soft drinks which was great - but you did get served the alcohol. We sat outside every day by the pool which was nice - but when they are busy it may be diificult to get seats outside. All of the meals times had a 3 / 4 hour window - so it was flexible and easy to eat when you wanted too.

2 main bars during the day - one in the main reception and the one adjacent to chaplins bar - we never had a problem getting a drink (either alcoholic or soft) but it was quiet when we were there - when the complex gets busy i would expect a queue - although there is also a pool bar which may open during busier times. You could also get drinks from the snack bar or resturant when they are open. During the night most of the entertainment took part in the downstairs reception disco - this also has a bar (although no beer pump!).

Animation team
These guys (mohammed / Ishmael) were really mad! The enthusiasm they have every day is immense - they talk to everyone and make everyone feel special. They organise all of the daily activities - darts / football / waterpolo etc. and also all of the evening activities (including the morrocco night - complete with snakes / scorpions). We also went with Ishmael to the Marrakesh by night trip which for 10 euros each was good value - he escorted us around Marrakesh and generally ensured everyone was ok - which was good as Marrakesh is a very interesting place but could be very intimidating on your own (getting lost etc). The animation guys do talk to everyone and remember who you are - which considering how many people they see & meet is good going!

A really enjoyable holiday - there are quieter resorts but a lot of people do come for the water park. Rooms decent (If you are unhappy go and speak to the reception guys - they do listen and will try to help). Food decent (if you were here for two weeks it could get a bit "samey".
Morocco's weather is fantastic in May / June / July / August and i found the hotel staff to be great - a few of the bar staff are not that happy but that's a minor. Also if you can speak a bit of French you will sometimes get preferential bat treatment! so maybe learn your bar orders in french!! If the resort is busy be prepared to wait for your food and drink.

In Marrakesh If you do wish to buy anthing make sure you barter hard - a bit different for us but can also be good fun - just walk away if you are not happy witth the price.

I have just come back from a fantastic 3 night trip with my 3 friends to the Aqua Fun Club.

We went All Inclusive and this was great value.

The hotel was great and very clean and the pools were great if a bit cold but good to cool off and all areas and gardens were spotless.

We had 2 rooms, one being a junior suit and was large and a fantastic view of the Atlas mountains and pools and garden area. The other was supposed to be a junior suit and we were told it was but it was a lot smaller and didn't have a view only of the entrance to the hotel and camels at the end of the drive.

There was a slight Manjana way with some of the staff but as we were on a weekend away we were not in any rush for anything.

The rep at the hotel was great and organised us a trip into Marrakech for a few hours with a guide which I would strongly recommend as we were 4 women, 2 of which being blonde that generated a lot of attention when walking around. this was just enough time and I was glad to get back to the hotel.

I would love to go back but I am not sure I would want to stay longer than 3-5 days as I think I would have got board with food choices and there was very little unless you paid to go on trips to the Atlas mountains and further afield.

I would recommend the hotel and we had a by relaxing trip.

Room Tip: Junior suit overlooking pool in main building.

We have just returned from a one-week stay at the Aqua Fun in Marrakech. We were looking for a hotel, which would be suitable for our 4-year-old son, to entertain him and give us equally chance to just laze by the pool.
Upon arrival, we were a bit shocked at first, as the hotel is part of a water fun park, so accessible for anyone else, who is not staying at the hotel, however we found, that it's at the busiest during the weekend, when many locals come to spend the day or the weekend with their families.

The check-in was straight-forward and we were lead to our room, which was a side building of the main building, on the ground floor. Very spacious with clean bathroom and toilet, large 3 beds and a terrace. The maids clean every day but it can sometimes take until late afternoon, before it's done but as we were mostly outside by the pool, we did not mind.

Reading other reviews prior to our departure, we were slightly worried about location, food, hygiene etc. but some people will look for things, so it seems and will mostly always find something to complain about.

The food choice is good and varies- there are 2 restaurants, which are used for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a food court, which serves burgers, fries and other snacks but we always stayed with the restaurant choice. There is a salad bar, local food as well as European food such as pasta, pizza etc.
I can honestly say, there was always something to eat and even for our son, choices were there. The desert buffet was equally good. Waiters come and clean your tables, food is always re-added, so no one goes starving. The drinks choice in the restaurant varies over soft drinks to wine, beer and if you wanted to, they'd even get you a cocktail from one of the bars in the hotel.
Beware-the bar by the pool only sells bottles at a charge and cocktails for about 7€ which is very expensive. But the main lobby bar serves cocktails free, if you are under the AI package.
Staff is in general very nice and helpful, they love children and made us feel very welcome.

The pools are cleaned and the filters changed every evening, so hygiene by the pools is a must. The pools and slides open at various times. The pools are switched on with the water features between 10:00 to 10:30 and then get switched off by 18:00. Slides are opened depending on the demand but usually, at the weekend, all slides are all open, as it's very busy. The only annoying thing is the constant music that is being played, so try and avoid sitting close to the speakers, as it can get quite tiring.
However we found that, again, the music was kept at low under the week but turned up by Friday, due to weekenders coming and staying there, so they want to be "entertained"
Our son enjoyed the water features and slides very much. The majority of the slides is not for children under 10, so watch out, when booking. There is only one larger slide, with a boat, which is called family slide, which they can go on. They are very careful and check age as well as height, although some parents managed to get their kids onto the slides without problems but I would not take the risk.

The location of the hotel is about 20 mins from Marrakech, so not walkable. There is a shuttle bus twice a day, which will drop you off at the Tourist Information in Marrakech- the first bus leaves at 10:30 and returns by 13:00 and the second bus leaves at 14:30 and picks up at 18:00. If you want to stay longer, you can get a taxi anywhere in town. The cost should not be more than 150 dirham during the day and max 200 dirham after 20:00-this is for taxis for up to 3 people. Any bigger cab will ask for more. The hotel can also organise a taxi, should you want to go outside the set hours. You can arrange tours with a tour guide next to the hotel entrance-very friendly lady. They organise trips to the mountains, Berber villages or to the sea (which is about 3 hours drive, so quite long)

There is also a bus in front of the hotel but no one could say, what time exactly it comes and we did not want to just go and wait for ages, specially with a child in a buggy. Also, the taxi drivers are quite chatty and will tell you about certain cites in Marrakech (they are all very proud of their city) or advise on restaurants and raids, where food is good. It may not always be the most exciting places from the outside but they will know the local spots, where one can eat very good !

There is plenty to see-several different souks and markets, small alleys etc. We had a guide that kind of picked us up, as we arrived with the bus and he really showed us places, where as a normal tourist one would not go. It was very interesting and we did not regret it and paid him an equal of £20 after 3 hours.

The people are very pleasant and friendly and don't get offended, when you tell them nicely "no"
We felt very at ease, walking through the centre and you will see, there are lots of tourists, so they are certainly used to see many different cultures.

All in all, a very advisable trip and we will surely return. I do advise though that if you are looking for a tranquil place to stay and get about easy into Marrakech, the Aqua Fun is not for you, as it's very much aimed at families with smaller or bigger children. As a couple, we would probably prefer a more central location but as we had our son, we were happy, as he wore himself out every day.

One negative we had was the experience of cockroaches in our bedroom- at first, only 2 but the next morning, my husband had collected a proud amount of 7, at which point we decided, to change room, considering that our son was playing on the floor and I just did not want to face him coming across one (they are bloody fast creatures !!)
The reception did not make a fuss about it, as they are aware of it and have been trying to get rid of the problem on previous occasions, as we learnt afterwards.
We moved just after lunch into a new bedroom and had a remaining, cockroach-free stay as well as a complementary fruit-basket, as they obviously felt embarrassed about the situation.

All in all a very relaxing holiday in a very pleasant and friendly country and accommodation. The people a welcoming and are very good hosts to foreigners. I would recommend the hotel to fun-loving people and families.

We came to the hotel for a 3 day break to celebrate my 40th , our room was amazing and the front of house staff couldnt have done more to make our stay special , this hotel is spotless the staff even wash the footpaths all day until late at night !!!
I am a fussy eater but managed to eat with no problems every night , However after a few days I think the food may become repetative , this is the first all inclusive we have stayed in that at some times of the day all you can get to eat is a pancake !! The animation team are great and always friendly we choose not to join in but it didnt stop them making us welcome , we liked the fact that we could go to the other side of the resort and escape the noise and children and relax by a pool, marrakech at night is really an adult trip i def wouldnt take my kids , loved the place hoping to take our kids back in october :)))

Room Tip: ask for a room near the spa
