“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

This restaurant was recommended by our guide. The street was abandoned but if you find the sign and head up to the terrace it is spectacular. The people are beautiful, the food is the best we had in Marrakech, we went twice. We ordered the chicken pastilla/pancake, chicken tagine and couscous. 100% recommend!

“Great food and beautiful sunset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

I went on a tour around Morocco and our tour leader took us to Ait Bougumez on our last evening. The food was excellent. I had the mixed grill (chicken, lamb chops, kofte) which was fabulous. My travel companions had the couscous (enormous portions) and they enjoyed it too. We sat on the roof terrace and watched the sunset over the Koutoubia minaret. I highly recommend it.

“Good family run restaurant.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

We ate here 3 times on our recent stay in Marrakech - 2 lunches, 1 dinner. A typical Berber menu was on offer with the usual tajines, kebabs and salads. Choice was excellent and the quality and presentation was very good and consistent. Service was extremely friendly and efficient and offered exceptional value for money.

The restaurant and facilities were well cared for and spotlessly clean. The roof terrace was fabulous with good views across Marrakech and the Koutoubia minaret.

I really felt comfortable here and I heartily recommend it. However, although being so close to the main square, it is situated on a really grubby street full of rubbish and rubble. Don't let this put you off as once you get to the building which seems to be an apartment or office block and climb to the roof top ( passing by a doctors surgery!) the exact location is soon forgotten!

“several visits in 1 trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

we went there several times during our time in morocco, as we returned to marrakech at the end of each stage of our visit. I was working with an english school trip. We were really well looked after by Mohammed & his team, the food was wonderful (both traditional dishes - tagine, couscous, etc, & more western - kebabs, chips, etc). The setting is great, with a roof terrace for the evenings and a lovely interior when it's too hot outside.
I often take groups to morocco, & I intend to return very soon
thanks/shokran
Tim
