Description: PEPE NERO Restaurant Marrakech : A place of flavours on motion where the senses are constantly coddled Khalid and his team represent the same soul of a single ingredient: Excellence. This where I devote myself body and soul to my passion: cooking We strive to always be precise in our gestures, attentive to the oven, skilled with knives, a sharpened sense of smell, an eye to the market, intransigent with the quality of ingredients and demanding in the kitchen. The battle I fight every day with my team is the oldest in the world:That between the hand and fire.We created the sort of restaurant we would like to find ourselves..Pepe Nero was born to engage and satisfy our passion : Taste, without any constraints or formalisms, with simplicity. But not only. We believe that there has been a generational change in customers who are rather apprehensive of locations that are over formal. With this new role we want to clear away taboos and bring haute cuisine into step with the times.

“Wow! A beautiful place with amazing food to match!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

We decided to eat somewhere "posh" and read about this place after seeing signs for it in the medina. We were not disappointed!
If you follow the signs in the medina you eventually arrive and the restaurant is tucked away in a long, narrow street. From the moment you enter you experience the beauty - a long pool and trickling water and then the courtyard with several tables. You can also sit in different rooms surrounding the courtyard.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful with very attentive staff. If you're looking for a special evening then this is the place. I would definitely go back!

“Excellent Quality of dining to be had in least expected place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013 via mobile

Four of us (two couples) went to Pepe Nero last night for our dinner after reading about it on trip advisor and we wernt disappointed! It was a fairly long taxi journey for us as we are in a hotel based on the other side of the city but don't be off put by this! The taxi took us though some of the roughest looking places in the city and stopped right in the middle of it all, however upon arrival there was a suited man waiting for us to escort us through an authentic back alley. We stepped inside to a beautiful courtyard with flowers and massive water feature! Once seated we were looked after a waiter who was most helpful and spoke very good English. I had the lamb Tagine which was 160DH but well worth it because the meat was very tender and there was alot of it! It is also a good place if you like to have an alcolholic drink with your meal as there was a large selection of wines, spirits and beers! Once the meal was finished we asked for a taxi to be called and after a 5 minute wait there was a large taxi outside ready to take us back to our hotel. Definite 5* experience and would 100% recommend this place to anybody coming to finish Marrakech in the future! A real diamond in the rough and would happily dine here again anytime!

“Best restaurant for me in Africa (not been to many)!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Went on the strength of Tripadvisor reviews that ranked Pepe Nero #3 in the city and for me this would be my #1. Total class in a gorgeous setting. Despite not haviing a booking we were met on the lane there by the maitr'd who guessed we were looking for it (it's somewhat isolated). Had the choice of the courtyard or dining room-chose the former. As a welcome we were brough a glass of complementary Prosecco while we considered the menus-one Moroccan and one Italian. We both had the Moroccan-harissa soup (bit bland) and lamb shoulder (exquisit flavours!) for me. Service was excellent and presentation beautiful. Would recommend going back (one nearby diner booked in for the following night).

“Hyperbole well deserved!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

We had dinner two nights during our stay in Marrakech: Both nights we were completely satisfied: The restaurant is wonderful, the service attentive and friendly and the food, we tried dishes from both menus the Italian and the Moroccan, all really excellent. Good wines list, Moroccan and Italian, and fair prices considering the level of the restaurant, so the
hyperbole is well deserved.
