We emailed in advance to book a table and received a very friendly reply to confirm the booking. Later we subsequently had to cancel as our hotel had no hot water! I emailed the restaurant to explain why we had to cancel and again they replied in a friendly tone. This encouraged us to find the restaurant the next day to make another booking. We wanted to find the restaurant in the light as we were a bit nervous about the location as it's up, down and around little alley ways. We met with a gentleman at the door who remembered our email from the previous evening and he was happy to accommodate us for that night. The entrance to the restaurant is calming, traditional and very beautiful. Once seated, we were poured a complimentary glass of champagne by a very friendly waiter who had a great sense of humour. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble, The food is beautifully presented, I had the duck but found the meal to be on the small side but other people seemed to have very decent sized meals (maybe they ordered sides). The whole restaurant is in a beautiful setting and is very atmospheric. Definitely worth a visit and the meal was actually the cheapest we had during our four nights in Marrakech. Worth doing a 'dry run' during the day and booking ahead. It is easy to find from the square, look for the big French restaurant on one of the corners (sorry can't remember the name) and follow the signs. If you book ahead by email, they will send you directions. All in all a very worthwhile experience.
