“A real jewel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

This restaurant is extraordinary.
Not only were the food extraordinary and the service impeccable, but the staff and the Cordon Bleu Chef made us feel like family. The fresh pastas and ravioli to die for and very good fish too!. We are a British couple expatriated to Marrakech and this is definitely a restaurant we will frequent regularly from now on: A pleasant discovery at affordable prices! The place, an old patrician palace in the old Medina of Marrakech, but accessible by car, is a real jewel!

“Really delicious!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

We went here for dinner yesterday evening before our departure to Taroudant and had one of the best eating experiences ever. The team made us feeling at home. They were all very hospitable. They noticed that we were very interested in Italian menu and they tell us all about the dishes and wines. My wife wanted to know some details about a recipe and they guided us through the really spotless kitchen and introduced us to the cooking staff. The young Chef was very kind explaining how he was working hard for achieving the maximum level of excellence in his work starting from the ingredients’ quality: He owns a farm few Km far from Marrakech to produce bio ingredients and go personally everyday to the markets to select the rest. His words revealed the enthusiasm that is beyond his successful work.

Concerning the food, we had Moroccan food for our entire trip so wanted to change, we preferred the Bel Paese menu, that includes a selection of their best Italian dishes. I had as starter the Chef’s salad and my wife the salmon’s carpaccio: Both exquisite and well presented. We continued with courgettes’ ravioli and saffran risotto: Really delicious!!! The roasted lamb en croute d’epices and the sea bass’s pave were the yummy end. No space left for the dessert..
We will try them next time.. we will be back by sure!!

“Great food and good value for the whole experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

I visited Pepe Nero on Sunday night for a birthday meal. The setting is wonderful and was very romantic with classical music playing in the background. The food was good, not exceptional but very good value for money when you compare to other premium restaurants in Marrakech. One side of the menu is Moroccan and the other side Italian. The Moroccan dishes are definitely better. The waiters were very attentive, if a little slow and slightly disorganised, but everyone seemed like they really cared and were very friendly when they came and it made up for it. If it is your birthday, they will also provide a free dessert and a huge cake, as well as all the waiters wishing you 'happy birthday'.

“More than excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2011

Since its opening last spring I ate 2 times at Pepe Nero and both meals here were more than excellent. Each course was well made, beautifully presented and really delicious. You can feel the freshness of the ingredients. The portions were copious and the prices rather convenient. Both the service and atmosphere were delightful and the place is breathtaking. Good wine list for Morocco: I had inexpensive bottles of Italian wine that were very good. For me, it is an experience not to be missed.

“Lovely environment and not too pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2011

This is a true oasis in a new stunning Riad accommodation well worth a visit. The Riad rooms are breathtaking and the pretty courtyard and dining areas are tasteful and beautiful. We indulged in a Hamman followed by a massage and then ate in the lovely restaurant.. We shared a lovely selection of Maroccan salads and followed by a chicken tagine and roasted lamb mains. They restaurant provided complimentary glass of champagne and an 'amuse bouche' to start and Maroccan biscuits to finish. Cost was around 550-600 DH's so around £40-50 so not too bad. The setting is lovely and peaceful. The location, like all Marrakech, is in a side street that takes some finding. It is about 7-10 mins walk from the square.
