“Great location, fantastic host”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

The best thing about staying in Riad Dar Tiflet is having Patrice on hand to help you get oriented in Marrakech. Staying in the medina can be a little daunting at first but is definitely worth it and Patrice made a huge effort to look after us (collecting us from the taxi, taking us to our restaurant on the first night and taking us on a tour of the medina in the morning).

Thanks to Patrice and Marc, our wonderful hosts, my husband, myself and our 10 month old baby could not have wished for a better experience in the medina of Marrakech. Their kindness, attention to detail, and friendly assistance, which included a walking tour of the medina, were second to none. Marrakech is an amazing city, and this riad is the perfect place from which to visit - really close to the main square, but quiet and secluded. Safe, peaceful, with a beautiful roof terrace, their rooms are lovely, cool and a welcome refuge from the heat and bustle of the city! Can't recommend them highly enough. Really hope we can come back and see you soon guys! x

The hosts, Patrice and Marc, are what make Riad Dar Tiflet such an amazing place to stay. Upon arrival we were met by Patrice and taken to the riad and once settled he took us on a tour of the Medina and provided the most detailed directions of how to make our way around the area without getting lost-fantastic! The riad is conveniently located very close to the main square, jama el fina. The rooms we stayed in were nicely decorated and clean and breakfast on the roof terrace was just lovely. Marc and Patrice recommended all the best sights and restaurants and even helped us organise our day trip to Ourika falls. Thank you gentlemen for making our Christmas in Marrakech so special!

My friend and I stayed at Dar Tiflet over Christmas for 5 nights.

Patrice and Marc were absolute gems, we've never had such friendly hosts!
Thanks to their directions we never once got lost within the medina, they helped us plan day trips and recommended wonderful restaurants. As two females on our first visit to Morocco we had been a little apprehensive but thanks to all Patrice and Marcs help we felt safe and streetsmart.

The riad itself is very stylish and comfortable, we stayed in the blue and then the yellow room both of which are lovely. Breakfast on the terrace every morning was delicious. Its in a brilliant location, about five minutes from the main square and five minutes in the opposite direction to the Medersa and museum of Marrakech.

In summary, SUPERB!
Thank you Marc and Patrice!

I've never had a better hotel! If this trip advisor would let me I'd ray dar tiflet 6 stars!
Marc the hotel keeper offered us a free 3 hour tour that brings out the best of the city that is never put in guide books or arranged tours. Breakfast is delicious, and the building is beautiful!

Patrice and Marc were so welcoming and friendly! They really make this Riad stand out from the rest. Patrice takes time to go through the area, and is on hand at all times to answer any questions. He will even take you around the souks if you want. They got us our bus tickets to go to Essouira (Fantastic place), took us to a restaurant on our first night when we arrived late, to a pharmacy when my husband got ill, and even bought a bottle of gin for us at the supermarket! The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The rooftop is a lovely place to relax. We had a wonderful time at dar Tiflet, and used it as our base to come back to whilst visiting other places in Morocco. Can not recommend enough, we will be back!!

We stayed in the Red Room in Dar Tiflet. The first thing I noted was how well-located the riad is – just 5 minutes or so from the main square, but tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac enabling you to get away from the hustle and bustle. Our host, Patrice, went out of his way to welcome us to Marrakech and gave us two guided tours, pointing out useful landmarks to help us make our way back to the riad without getting lost! He also advised us on where to eat, what to see, what to avoid and on tipping etiquette, and was happy to answer all of our questions. It was great to stay in a converted riad and the room was very clean and comfortable. There was also a terrace which had views over the city, sun loungers and a shaded area (as well as a collection of cats!). Breakfast was included on the first morning and Patrice gave us the option of earl grey or local tea. I would highly recommend Dar Tiflet as a friendly, inexpensive, quiet and comfortable place to stay in the centre of Marrakech.

Hello Robert E, thank you so much for having taking time to write a wonderful review about us, and thank you for writing all these details..including the cats ! Here we live with birds on terraces, or cats, rarely both at the same time indeed... we chose the less noisy finally ! It seems that you had memorable holidays including your trip to South Atlas, we are very happy that our guests discover Morocco for it's best, as we did a decade ago. Have a wonderful time back in London, see you maybe later for another exploration of our country. Kind regards from all DarTiflet'team.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Riad Dar Tiflet is a smart authentic Riad in the heart of the old medina. We chose to let the house as it was decorated by the former berberian families, with a lot of old ceramics on the walls (zelliges) and furniture hand-made in medina. All commodities are at international standards, 5 bathrooms for 4 bedrooms, with WIFI connection... Our terrace is much appreciated by his panoramic view and his 3 independant parts. ... more   less
