“Nothing Special”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We were promised two twin beds, which we did not get. The room smelt of damp and did not even have a door to the bathroom. When we came back to the hotel after spending the day exploring the city, we open the door to our room and to my horror to see that all our belongings had been removed and the room was occupied by other guests. We then found out that they transferred all our things to another room, I was not impressed as we were not told.

Our booking said that the breakfast was a buffet, no it wasn't. Our breakfast was a hard boiled egg and french bread, when we asked for more we were told no.

When it came to checking out, none of the English speaking staff were there. We had to wait 20 minutes, I then explained that we had a flight to catch and had no time to wait around.

The hotel is in a good location, you get what you pay for.

Generally an Ok place to stay - good location, room was fine, reasonable price. The let-down was the attitude of the staff. They advertised food but it was only sometimes available, and they demanded payment the night before I left without warning, in the end demanding that I go to a bank to get cash as I didn't have enough on me. Disappointing, as otherwise this isnt bad.

We spent our first night in Marrakesh in this riad. It was conveniently located for suks and sightseeing, not extremally difficult to find. Common areas and roof terrace were quite nice, but our room was bit spooky. There was huge, old, squeaky bed and other furniture was bit worn out as well. Toilet bowl was not fixed properly and very wobbly. Taps were loose and I was scarred all the time that we will break something.

It was ok for one night, but I would not go back to this place.

Riad Hannah is great; good location, cosy Riad, kind people. Shower is warm, food and breakfast is good, and service from and to the airport is being arranged. Khalid, the supervisor of Riad Hannah, told us a lot about Marrakech, the people and what to do when we were there. The Riad has also a library with many books in different languages, which is nice if you want to chill on the rooftopterrace.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the bathtub, very nice!

Pictures om the internet are not okey the room are really bad and servive as well. A picture of the frontdoor would be interesting for You who is intrested. There were no sheeys in the bed and no pillow. The room is too small for open your bag. Breakfest included coffee or te and 1 bread, nothing more

Riad Hannah is conveniently located near to the square and is very good value for money. The courtyard is pretty and they have a library of books which you can swap your own for. The staff were friendly and will assist you with anything you need. The only downfalls of the hotel were the shower in our room was a little grimy, it also didn't have a curtain or a door of any sort and nor did the toilet. But for what we paid we thought it was excellent value!!

The Riad is beautiful however this is where the positive aspects of the hotel ends.
The staff is unprofessional overbooking the hotel on more than one occasion during my 5 night stay. Some girls were carted to another Riad in the middle of the night as they had overbooked the Riad knowing full well that they did not have the room. Furthermore, customers book specific rooms and are given something completely different. On more than one occasion I heard guests complaining about booking a certain room and receiving something different.

Regrettably the manager spends very little time at the hotel which means that new guests can sometimes be expected to wait for over an hour in the communal area before they are shown to their room and half the time the room has not been prepared yet so staff are running around cleaning the room for the waiting guests.

The staff was also seen packing the bags of guests and moving them into another room without telling the guests that they had been moved to another room.

The manager appears very uninterested and can be seen drinking and socialising in the communal area and when approached seem annoyed at the nuisance. Furthermore, the manager was heard on more than one occasion drinking until the late hours disrupting guests. Furthermore, the manager appeared happy to walk into a room occupied by two female guests uninvited which is unacceptable. The male staff were like leeches and it was very uncomfortable to be around them. Too over familiar and without any sense of personal space. Females should avoid this hotel at all cost!

It is such a shame that bad management lets this Riad down as the location is perfect if you want to stay close to the square and the old town. I am completely horrified and would suggest that you stay somewhere else and avoid this place at all cost!

Room Tip: Just avoid this place like the plague especially if you are female.
