“tranquil oasis amongst the madness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

I am ashamed to say that I rarely take the time to write reviews unless I have had particularly bad or exceptionally good service, but it is definitely true to say that at the bellamane, we received the latter! It is a beautiful, tranquil little oasis in the middle of the madness that is Marrakech, run by people who genuinely care and want to provide you with the best experience possible. We spent a very peaceful few days in the riad sunbathing and taking advantage of massages and the gorgeous pool, and came home feeling entirely relaxed. Meals were cooked to perfection and service was always offered with a smile. There were no eating times to adhere to, the staff made meals to order and made so much effort with the setting, it was just beautiful. Location-wise, there was a bit of a walk to the square and the riad was a little difficult to find when returning at night, but is so beautiful it more than makes up for this inside! I would recommend the Bellamane to anyone travelling to Marrakech. We couldn't fault it!

We were lucky to have a whole hotel for ourselves. It is a really nice small Ryad with a really fascinating rooms. It has a small swimming pool, a nice terrace and wonderful view.
The dinner at the hotel was delicious, I should highly recommend it.

I never write reviews, but for the bellamane I will make a exception. The kindness and attentiveness of Stephane's staff, the superb chef, are all absolutely top notch. I wish I could eat as well as we did every day. The food is Amazing!
As soon as we got out the taxi, in the midst of the medina, we were a bit lost for words - it's Marrakech and bustling, which we expected, but once the doors opened to the bellamane it was like stepping into another dimension all together. So peaceful and the interiors are so beautiful. Its almost like staying in someone's home.
I feel like we've made great friends with the owner Stephane, he even organised a tasting of Moroccan foods (we're planning our wedding) and suggesting all sorts of things. He's great for ideas! :)
We'll definitely return. The bellamane made our week of wedding planning absolutely memorable.
Thank you all! And see you again. :)

Impressive Riad, this one. After two weeks of trekking in the High Atlas, we stayed four nights in the design suite, which is in fact two large rooms plus a private terrace. Well appointed in a "fusion" style, roomy and with a shower that one would expect in the Taj Mahal rather than in a hotel (see the pix). Very kind and helpful staff, and the cuisine is imho better than what one gets at some of Marrakech's top restaurants (we had dorade in a salt crust one evening - wonderful!). Nice cosy pool area. Very quiet and luxurious atmosphere throughout.

We stayed at the Bellamane for 5 nights at the beginning of May. The ryad is a very comfortable and relaxing environment, a haven from the relentless attention when walking around the medina! The lovely breakfast served on the roof terrace in lovely sunshine was perfect. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful and smiled all the time. The owner seems to keep a close eye on how things are run which I personally think makes all the difference. We ate in the ryad one evening and had a nice meal, not exceptional, but the setting made it memorable. I would recommend this place to stay. The only thing to bear in mind for some people is the 10-15 minute walk to the main square, which for us was no problem but may be for others. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

Bellamane Ryad is a great place to unwind and relax. Although the neighborhood isn't one of the best having nothing interesting to visit and far from the center, it is nevertheless safe. From the moment you arrive at the Ryad and pass the door you feel and are in another world.
The staff is very eager to please and always helpful at every moment.
The architecture and the decoration is discreet but with very tasteful and well thought details.
Being such a small Ryad with only 6 suites, it has all you expect from a luxury place: the suites are huge and somehow luxurious, the dinners are always very nice with some gourmet touches, the spa is small but the masseuse is very dedicate and professional and provides a great work.
The staff as expected is small and multifaceted: two young men do most of the work from reception to organizing everything as well as serving meals. The housemaids also double as spa staff... But overall at the end everything works, and that's what counts.
On the downsize, the prices on the wine list were too expensive, the music always present in the afternoon was repetitive and very loud, and the scents around the house maybe too aggressive.
Bellamane Ryad: an experience to remember and to repeat

This luxurious retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day Marrakech is a true gem, one that I cannot recommend highly enough!
We stayed as a couple in the African Suite and from the moment we entered (highly recommend arranging a shuttle as you are greeted at the airport and driven close to the Riad, met at the shuttle and walked to the Bellamane) the service was excellent as we were greeted by Yassine who brought us the a la menthe by the pool (our first of many!) We then had a tour of the Riad where we saw gorgeous private and public terrace areas, on different levels, by the pool and of course at the very top with the stunning views of the Atlas mountains and the rooftops of Marrakech. Our room was large with separate ensuite toilet and shower room, if a little dark; the highlight of our room was the double shower!
Overall, service was impeccable, with understated, efficient waitering when we dined at the Riad in the evening (you MUST do this, it's a wonderful experience) to the smiley morning breakfast, wherever you want to eat it and at whatever time...evening meals were delicious, authentic Moroccan cooking with the additional luxury of dining in your own private space, with petals, candles, music and an open fire. Jamal provides superb service throughout your meals and nothing is too much trouble. Minor point could be a larger selection of wine.
SPA- our first hammam experience which we did together, proved luxurious once again and the 1hour massage following this was perfect for me (although my boyfriend did say he would have liked it firmer, but then he didn't ask!).
Location-a 15 minute walk to La Place (when you don't take a wrong turn and end up somewhere completely different, but that's half the fun or Marrakech!) once we'd worked it out it was fine. Yassine did draw a map for us.
They were happy to advise or arrange shuttles to places (we went to Jardins Majorelle, highly recommend!) and they always walked us to the pick up point (cars can't get all the way to the Riad). Yassine also bought our bus tickets for onward travel for us which was a fantastic help. They gave us a restaurant recommendation for our next city in Morocco too.
Final tips: get lost in the souks, bargain hard, eat in the main square La Place, relax in the Riad, sunset on the roof terrace with wine and nibbles, enjoy Bellamane for all it offers!

Room Tip: African Suite had a double shower but all rooms look amazing. Roman room has its own private terrac...
