with only 10 days to spare, our Morroccan vacation had to be carefully planned. after weeks on end of researching we had decided to spend 5 nights in Essaouira and 3 in Marrakesh. the hotel in Essaouira was easy enough to find, but Marrakesh was a different story. how we got so lucky in finding this gem of a ryad is still beyond me! upon entering the medina I was shocked at the loudness, cramped lanes and alleyways. but once we saw what was behind the unassuming tall walls we were at a loss for words...we must have gasped in wonderment at everything we saw, we must have appeared comical even...due to my line of work I am used to staying in beautiful hotels, but I have never seen or stayed at a more serene,beautifully designed and enchanting place as the Bellamane...the owner Stéphane and the whole staff were so wonderful and welcoming, we felt at home!...of the 6 individually designed suites we chose the romaine suite, we had our dinner in a private salon with fire place( the 3-course meal was divine) and the breakfast on the roof top with a wonderful view of the Atlas mountains...even the hammam was heavenly...it was clear that I was going to shop for lamps and so we were very lucky to be accompanied by the ever so caring and accomodating Siham...next time we'll definitely be staying longer.

We had the perfect short break at the Bellamane at the end of October, the week ending with the Eid celebration. Beautiful decor, wonderful service and excellent food - we can't recommend this riad too highly. Discrete but attentive service from the time we were met at the airport greatly contributed to our enjoyment, as did help negotiating the labyrinth of the Medina for the first time. Situated about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the main square and the souks, you step out of calm luxury directly into the hustle and bustle of the Medina. We ate in 3 nights out of 4 because the meals were so delicious, eating in candlelight in a different part of the riad each time, beautifully presented and well-served. The in-house hamman and spa are worth taking advantage of. We will certainly return, and maybe take advantage of the organized golf days next time. Many thanks to all the staff for their friendly and professional service.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The rooms and the Ryad are immaculately decorated to the finest detail. The staff were always ready to serve and help out with a smile. During our stay we spent most of our time lounging around the Ryad, swimming and enjoying the terrasse as it was so peaceful and calm.

I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Marrakech.
