“Clean, looked after place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012

We booked our room in advance and were very satisfied with it. It was big enough and clean. The bathroom was nicely done with littel colourful tiles and the shower worked perfectly - with very hot water! After a bit of fiddeling around, we even got the heating to work (which is important in December!). After travelling around in Morocco, we decided to stay our last night in the same hotel. We got a different room, which was ok as well, but not quite as nice. The room was a bit smaller, so was the bathroom. The decour was a bit different as well. However, the matrasses in both rooms were extremly hard!
The only other negative thing to mention would be hidden costs. We arranged for a pick up from the airport and asked the driver how much it would cost and were told, it's included in the hotel price. Later we were charged € 20! They also asked if we liked dinner and were told, after specifically asking for the price, it costs € 30 per person! They also charge extra for payment by credit card (which does not always work, so make sure to have some cash!).

This was an unexpected and delightful surprise when you go through the door at the end of a narrow alleyway. We were given a real Moroccan welcome of mint tea and cakes by the manager who couldn't have been more helpful. The room was excellent, there was a small, but very nice pool. Moroccan breakfast was served on the roof terrace, pancakes, omelettes, cakes, juice, tea coffee etc. Interesting view over the Medina from the top, with storks nesting on the old palace opposite
It was about ten minutes walk to the Place Jamaa El Fna through some interesting streets. The wonderful Dar Es Salaam restaurant where Hitchcock filmed 'The Man Who New Too Much' was only five minutes away. We would definitely stay there next time we are in Marrakech

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2011

Riad Khol is a great place to be, the service was excellent and Tierry (the owner) always there and very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere of the Riad is very romantic and elegant. The location was very good and close to everything. Have to say that Riad Khol has the best Beef "Tagine" (the traditional moroccan dish), tried some restaurants in Marrakech but happy to say that one of the best dining was here. Little hard to find but once you arrive there first time then it's easy to get around. The breakfast was very delicious and the service always great. Unfortunately no Internet in the rooms but the nice big lounge couch was comfy enough to spend hours there to deal with works online.
