“Just beautiful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

Four Seasons Hotels are usually beautiful, but in Marrakech this hotel is more beautiful than ever.
Location does not matter in this city.
The garden and outdoor area here makes you relax and stay calm.
Restaurants are great.
Rooms fantastic.
The hotel is a dream.

This is a beautiful resort. The hotel and grounds are lovely, rooms are nice, fab bathroom, walk in wardrobe, nice balcony, twice daily housekeeping service, overall what you would expect from the Four Seasons brand. When we returned to the hotel from our trips out, we were met at the hotel entrance with cold flannels and bottle of cold water. Very welcome!

Beds were a bit soft for my liking and my daughter's bed did sag in the middle but she didn't mind that!

Breakfast was excellent. Lovely varied buffet, also option to have freshly made omelettes or pancakes.

But otherwise I found the standard of food to be disappointing and not what you'd expect from a 5 star resort.

The poolside restaurant for lunch was ok & some staff were exceptionally nice, some were quite unfriendly. A lady at the table beside us was having a chicken dish one day & I asked for that. "Is it on the menu" the waiter asked me quite sarcastically. It wasn't, but I just assumed it was available. "If it's not on the menu, we don't have it," he said. Apparently it was on the special lunch menu that had finished half hour earlier.

We had dinner in the hotel every night as we just didn't want to go into town. There are 3 options on-site - an Italian restaurant, Moroccan buffet or an international restaurant which is also the bar.

The Italian restaurant was nice, lovely surroundings. The menu is quite minimal. We ate there twice, had pizza & these were good. The manager there was very hands-on, kept everything running smoothly and he went round each table, asked how everything was, very keen to hear feedback.

We didn't try the Morrocan buffet as it didn't appeal to my teenage daughter and so would've been an expensive option for her(490 dirhams per head) to just try a couple of things. It was always busy, which is a good sign!

Inara is the bar/international restaurant. Staff were nice, no obvious signs of a manager, surroundings lovely, food very poor.

The Caesar salad was basically a bowl of limp lettuce with a small piece of chicken, no croutons. The "half grilled chicken" was actually half an over-cooked chicken breast, completely dried out. The sole meunière was the worst I've ever had. Over cooked & tough & served with soggy potato wedges. Despite the fact that there were only 2 other customers, it took 45 minutes to arrive and certainly wasn't worth the wait!

After 3 days of average over-priced food, I asked to speak to the restaurant manager. He arrived after about 15 minutes and he was pleasant and but just kept saying "I'm totally with you." i wasn't sure if he was agreeing with me that the food was sub-standard or not!

We weren't charged for the food that evening but were charged for the drinks, 1 coke & 1 glass of wine. Might have been a nice goodwill gesture to waive that.

So to sum up, this is a lovely resort to spend time in. Very relaxing, peaceful & a perfect place to unwind. But I would recommend leaving the resort for dinner.

The staff at the resort make the experience, although that is not to take away from the beautiful resort itself.

The attention to detail is incredible, and I highly recommend the hammam, although be prepared to have cold water dumped on you (it's worth it).

The restaurants and bars on the resort make it difficult to venture away for meals. Arancini, and the sports bar above it, are not to be missed, especially if you are looking for a rare, well constructed cocktail in Marrakech.

Don't consider anywhere else. I've stayed at the 'Taj Palace' amongst many other hotels in Marrakech. They're ok, but don't even compare to the 'Four Seasons'. Most impressive, were the staff. They were genuine, friendly, helpful and well trained. The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful, They have seperate pools for families and couples/singles. The food is very good. I'd recommend the Italian Restaurant, we all enjoyed the food. Basic taxi's can be called to show you around, you must at the very least leave the luscious grounds to visit the souk. Don't pay more than 50 dirhams. I felt that my bed was a little soft and asked them to turn it for me. The staff insisted on exchanging my mattress for a harder version. I've never been offered that level of service in my 3.5 years of full time travel. Hats off to the Resort. Second to none. MASHALLAH and thank you. If you stay in the city, you're taking a peaceful sleep into your own hands!! Instead of waiting for the clubs to close in order to sleep, stay at four seasons and be greeted by the beautiful, singing bird life.

Room Tip: I was lucky enough to get a villa. Both of them fabulous #62 and #82 (near the adult pool). If you c...

We went to the Four Seasons as we had a Groupon to join everyone with 'breaking the fast'. The food was the best we ate in Marrakech hence me leaving this review.

Gorgeous Tajines, pastries, pastillas, fruit, dates (out of this world), fresh squeezed juices, moroccan tea, fresh baked breads.

We walked round the grounds as the manager ordered us a taxi, they were just beautiful with lots of elements. Has to be seen!-

Overall this is a great resort. Pools are very nice and well maintained and the rooms are nicely appointed and well laid out. However, there were a few points of contention. The pool staff seemed a bit overwhelmed which was interesting considering the hotel was rather empty and many of the towels which they used on the chairs were dirty to stained which was a bit off-putting. The food at the hotel was good overall but I wouldn't say its on the level of other FS resorts I have stayed at. Overall if you are in Marrakech for service, cleanliness, and overall quality you can't do any better.

Room Tip: Worth booking a room in one of the outbuildings

What a wonderful hotel, truly an oasis in Marrakesh. Not far from the airport and only a short can ride into town when you need to go, but it's worth this short trip to enjoy just a quality resort. The rooms are huge with balconies, walk in wardrobes and doubled sinked bathrooms. Two pools, one for the families and one for the couples. Lovely restaurants, one Italian and one Moroccan and one for lunch by the pool. The pool staff are very attentive with many sips and munchies delivered throughout the day to keep you cool and satisfied. The sun beds have towelling covers and then towels on top which are all changed when you go for lunch. Such wonderful attention to detail. The staff are delightful. And a top quality boutique with very nice items if the rubbish in the souks just drains you after a while! Stay here it's a dream.
