“Marvellous Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011

My family and I stayed at the Four Seasons Marrakech late October 2011. We are two adults, a teenager and a toddler. From start to finish this was a fantastic experience. Whilst Marrakech itself is a fabulous destination, recommended to all for the sensory overload that it delivers, the actual Four Seasons hotel is the subject of this brief review.

In summary, we all loved it. Outstanding staff were friendly, willing and provided excellent service without ever appearing over the top. Food choice was good and value was more than ok. Hotel grounds, pools, spa etc were all fantastic, clean and relaxing. Our room (a deluxe pavilion) was particularly nice, easily capable of accommodating the whole family and maintaining a degree of separation. We even had our own plunge pool.

Downsides were almost zero. Perhaps the pools were a little cold? Apparently this is being resolved (the hotel is quite new and I guess it takes a little while to fine tune).

Highly recommended. We will return.

I stayed in the Four Seasons Resort in Marrakech with my Mother and my 4 year old son during the month of October. Four Seasons took such great care of us and it was a really memorable holiday.
I advice you to hire the "Meet and greet" service, both for your arrival as for your departure. There is someone from the hotel waiting for you when you get off the plane, he escorts you to a VIP area while they take care of all your passport controls, and then take you directly to a comfy air conditioned Jeep (the taxis available at the airport arent excatly screaming comfort!)
Once we arrived at the hotel it was like a dream, the decoration throughout and the gardens are maginificent. We were able to check in at the terrace whilst enjoying a cold drink, this was much appreciated. We booked an executive suite but as the hotel was not very full we received a complimentary upgrade. The rooms are decorated beautifully and from our room we had direct access to the family pool which was great.
If travelling with kids this is a great place to stay, the family pool is fantastic for them to be able to have fun, without worrying about bothering those guests without children. They also have a great Kids Club program run by the wonderful Myriam.
The food is so good, we ate lunch and dinner in the hotel everyday and it was a great mix of typical food from the area as well as classic bistro dishes. The menus for children are also great!
All in all I can say that the whole trip was amazing. The room prices are high but the beauty of the resort and the quality of the service provided by all the staff makes it very worth it! We are already planning our next visit!

Having enjoyed a great 7 night stay we would like to share our views..firstly it is essential you confirm your meet and assist at this airport as the FS let us down and we were delayed in the airport for one & a half hours. Eventually we were picked up but this spoilt the first part of our stay.Secondly there are only two restaurants open the rooftop terrace bar is closed until 2012..The pool is amazing the staff friendly and attentive as with all FS hotels and the Spa was nice but could use some improvement as all treatments were not as expected. I'm sure this will be a fabulous place next year, however overall we had a lovely relaxing time here and will return.

Room Tip: Occupancy is low so ask for an upgrade on arrival

Dear Mr Darren V,
Thank you very much for your feedback and for having chosen the Four Seasons Hotel Marrakech for your recent vacation in Morocco.
I apologize for the missed VIP arrival experience at the Marrakech airport, which is included with all transportation arranged via our Concierge. Please contact me directly at holger.frehde@fourseasons.com next time and we will arrange this for your next stay.
In regards to your other comments: We are working hard on improving the Spa experience and have made many changes already. Lastly, good news: Zest Rooftop Bar is now open!

A long weekend in Marrakech at the newly opened Four Seasons.

We were there not long after the hotel had been fully opened to the public (it was soft-opened in July this year).

Room was excellent - nice size, good view from the balcony, large bathroom and bath, with separate shower, dressing room and a huge and incredibly comfortable bed.

We could not fault the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff - each one of them stopped to say hello as you passed them in the corridors or the grounds, unfalteringly smiling and polite.

Food at both restaurants we ate at (on the terrace and by the pool) was excellent and, though expensive (the price of food and drinks are what you would expect of a 5* resort hotel), was plentiful and generous. Breakfast selection was also excellent.

Two swimming pools - one a "family pool" and one more conventional (and much quieter - I felt bad disturbing the peach by swimming around!), both with very comfortable beds and wonderful staff circulating occasionally with a small drink or selection of fruit (complimentary).

My wife and I had both had a hammam at the Spa on the evening of our first night - an incredible experience I would highly recommend. My wife enjoyed hers, although less so when she heard how good mine had been! Chaps - I highly recommend this experience, not for the faint hearted, but you will feel revived, refreshed and sparkling afterwards, mentally and physically (and you may have also learned a little about Moroccan culture and traditions).

The only gripe I would make is the transfers from the airport. Owing to a slight error on the hotel's part, our car was not there to greet us and we, only by chance, happened upon another member of the Four Seasons staff, who sorted this for us. Still, it was about 30 minutes after we exited customs before we were on the way to the hotel. While the car was beautiful, the drive smooth and cool, and with cold towels on arrival at the car, I did not feel, at 550dh (about £55), it was good value for money (and that notwithstanding the lateness). It is less than 10 minutes from the airport to the hotel and, for that distance, I'd have been happy in a local taxi (which are a fun experience in themselves!) - for that, be ready to barter and don't pay more than 100dh if possible.

Overall, though, a really excellent stay. When we've remortgaged, we'll be back!

Stayed for 5 days. Truly enjoyed our time here. Got the airport pickup and drop off. Nicely executed.
Our best lunch was by the pool. Fresh grilled meats and seafood.
Dinner at solana was good not great.
Four seasons always pampers their guest no matter what property you are staying at.

We booked at Four Seasons Marrakech to attend a wedding in the city.
Our stay was simply perfect.
Hotel location is very convenient, 10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes to the main attractions. Our room was spacious with all comfort you might need, matching Four Seasons quality standards.
Service was great with excellent staff from front desk to restaurants, nothing particular to say other than that it's very good. Pools are huge with comfortable lounge chairs and cabanas. Travelling with a 1 year old baby, we enjoyed the family pool and its great staff.
Spa is good with a relaxing atmosphere.
We'll return, that's for sure.
