“Better than the other courses played”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

All courses in Marrakech have a long way to go before equalling European standards but this course was great to play surrounded by beautiful houses
Recommend you get a caddy and walk opposed to buggy and cheaper option too
3 hr to get round course very quiet
Clubhouse very poor so was the greeting but same goes for other courses too
No proper changing or shower facilities but each hole different and challenging

“Poor hospitality and expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

I can support the previous comments about the welcome in the pro shop - that guy needs to find another job. The organisation is chaotic - it wasn't clear which course to start on and this seemed to be decided on a whim by the starter. I went out on the red course which I found fairly tame. The signposting is very poor and signs on individual holes are sun bleached and partly illegible. Coming back on the blue course I hit serious traffic; there is absolutely no marshalling to manage speed of play. The price was excessive (green fee! rental clubs, buggy) for what you get. The blue course is actually quite challenging with lots of water, just a shame about the gravel on so many fairways.

“Amelkis golf”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

I am an Australian who lives here in Marrakech and I am a member of Amelkis

I am actually really surprised by some of the bad reviews that Amelkis has received on this site. Maybe people are expecting an "Augusta" experience.

Amelkis is not one of the "great courses" but it is a good course that can be played by all levels of golfer. It has some excellent golf holes and is a walking course with fantasic views of the Atlas Mountains.

The food at the clubhouse is fantastic and the staff are very friendly. Remember as a visitor to any country in the world that "YOU" must embrace the locals! Just say hello and the staff are extremely friendly!

Marrakech is a place with a temperature variation of between 50 degree centrigrate in summer to 0 in winter. For any course to withstand this variation and still remain "very" playable is a tribute to the design and the greenstaff. Yes at times the greens get a bit rough (look at the weather variations) but they are sound the year out. It is now December and the course is in perfect (and I mean perfect) condition and the greens are some of the best you could ever play on.

For any person wanting a good golf experience in Morocco and not paying a fortune ( I saw the whiney boy comment about the changing rooms not being perfect - what do you want other than a hot shower and a locker?) this is a great facility and i have made some great friends with the staff that work there

“Best of the 4 courses played in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Was not expecting much because of a few poor reviews on tripadvisor. What a surprise. Great layout with no back to back holes. 4 ball round in 3 hours 45. Only problem was they had double booked a couple of teetimes ahead of us so we were 30 mins late starting. One to enjoy.

“playing golf in Marrakech Morrocco”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

There are 5 golf courses. 1. Al Maaden. Good golf course except for bunkers and greens very slow and poor directions to next green recommend buggies. Rated 7/10 2. Amelkis golf club. Limited buggies but Caddies excellent 6/10 Poor changing rooms. Royal golf. Tree lined up and dowm course you have to use caddies but not the best. Rated 5/10 4. Samanah Nicholas designed course. Only for good golfers. Very long ,greens hard to read typical Nicholas course. No alchohol served. But excellent facilities 9/10. 5. Almaaden. Not very well marshalled had a single player with caddie playing 3 balls for example. 4/10 Not the best of courses typical holiday resort with no care about golfers. Weather perfect for golf but all bars have at least 100 flies to keep you company. Buy local beet not imported.
