“WELL DESERVED 5 STARS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

I booked my holiday online - package of flight and accommodation. It turned out we would stay in the Riad Dubai. We couldn't have been luckier. As me and my brother did some research we found out that this was one of the best accommodations in town. It was only a short walk to the Djemma El'Fna directly situated in the old town of the city. As we wanted to have an authentic stay in Marrakech it was out of question to be in one of the all-inclusive clubs of the city. It had to be a Riad. RIAD DUBAI.

A couple of days before our holiday we were called and the Riad arranged our airport transfer. Great service. In Marrakech we were warmly welcomed in our Riad. Housni took time to show us a map of the city and give some helpful tips. We were also served some "Berber whiskey".
Houssin, Hassan and Abdul did everything in their power to make our holiday unforgettable. They were always nice and friendly. Whenever we needed something they were happy to help. From the beginning on they made clear that we should feel like at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

In the mornings we were always served a great breakfast (fresh orange juice and coffee, bread, crepes and a croissant, cheese, olives, butter, jam and honey, as well as a yoghurt). All of that was included in the Riad price. In the evenings the Riad also offered dinner. We only had dinner once but it was delicious.
Riad Dubai is also offering a range of excursions to different destinations. We booked three different tours. Although the price was slightly more expensive than if we would have booked with an agency directly we thought it was more secure booking through the Riad. We were told that they take full responsibility and this was worth a slightly higher price. Besides one of the guys always came with us to the meeting point to guarantee our safety in the early mornings.
The rooms in the Riad were fantastic. Clean and 1001 nights style. There was an inner courtyard from which you got to the different rooms. The courtyard was kind of a communal place where we spend a lot of time when we were in the Riad and where we had breakfast. Up the stairs there was a nice roof terrace. For everyone who wants to even stay connected in their holiday - Wifi is free in the Riad.
There is only one thing I would change. The prices should be displayed in Dirham instead of Euro as this would make the payment easier. Other than that I have to say I am 150% with Riad Dubai. Me and my brother would go back there straight away. Whoever wants to stay in Marrakech for a fair price and experience an authentic accomodation please choose the Riad Dubai. Great friendly and hard working people. THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC TIME. Five stars are well deserved.

We stayed here as a young couple in late march 2013 after reading the great reviews, and it exceeded all expectations!!

It is a beautiful, very traditional Riad in a great location, away from the hustle and bustle but only a short walk away from the main square. We stayed in room number 1, which in previous reviews had some negative comments, however we loved it! Beautifully decorated, and cleaned by the maid daily, we couldn't have asked for more. One of the most beautiful parts of the Riad was it's roof terrace which we sat on regularly relaxing with a glass of wine.

As mentioned by most reviews the best part about the Riad was the service. Housni, Hussan and the rest of the team were just excellent, waiting on our every request willingly and going out of their way to be helpful.

We ate at the Riad most days either for lunch and dinner as we had half board. Although choice is limited, the food we had was very good. The lovely complimentary breakfast consisting of pancakes, croissants, breads and yoghurt was made for you whenever you felt like waking up.

Overall it was an amazing trip to Marrakech, and we don't think it would have been the experience it was had we not stayed in Riad Dubai.

Superb customer service and attention to detail from beginning to end. The right balance between helpful and giving people their space. Good meals. We satyed in two different rooms through our stay both up and down stairs. Both were very good. Wifi Excellent signal unlike many places. Good airport pick up service at a good price.
What can I say. Also good practical help. We have been to North Africa and Morocco a number of times but this is the best service we have experienced and because of this would be superb for first time marrakech travellers or those lacking a little confidence as you will get looked after but not ripped off.
Best place I have stayed in North Africa!

Room Tip: Upstairs probably better. but all excellent.

We stayed here a week March 2013, had a lovely room on the 1st floor. Breakfast on the roof looking at the Atlas Mts each morning superb. This is not an hotel but a traditional Moroccan house providing accommodation and a service attitude that hotels could not match. Nothing was any trouble for Mohammad, Abdullah or the cleaning lady whose name I forgot. The house is situated down some less than appealing alleyways, but that is the nature of the Kasbah area, the locals were friendly and the area is safe. Make sure you arrange for your airport pickup through the Riad and there are no problems. The walk to the centre of town is quite simple after the first time, the various traders enroute get to know you. Treat everyone with a smile and some banter and things go well. We did some of the recommended activities, finding the over night Zagora trip long but very interesting. The driver on our trip was good at driving but not so good at looking after his customers wants, ie the stops and the time spent at places depended on whether he had friends to sit and talk with. The Berbers at the overnight stay, they seem keen on what they do and treat the tourists well, they get very little for their efforts so they warrant a good tip. I can not speak highly enough of the efforts of the staff at Riad Dubai to make our stay so enjoyable.

We went to Marrakech for a 5 night break and cannot recommend this Riad highly enough. Husnai, Hussan and Abdul were the most wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble. They were helpful, attentive, informative and by the end of the 5 days, our friends. So much so, we spent our last evening sitting on the roof terrace sipping tea and chatting with them!

The location of the Riad (at the end of Rue de Kasbah) was amazing, and gave us plenty of opportunity to sing Clash songs as we meandered through the medina streets. The rooms are simple but perfectly formed. The bed was super comfortable. The terrace where u can have breakfast, relax in the sun or sip cold drinks at night was beautiful.

But above all, and there were many good things about this Riad, were the staff. A huge thank you to them for making out stay so special.

All the superlatives you may read about the Riad Dubai are true. Owner Said and his staff provided us our best overall riad experience in three plus weeks in Morocco, a country in which there is very good value for budget travelers. Hospitality and attention to detail are second nature here. The Riad Dubai is a treasured respite from Marrakesh culture shock. Be forewarned: You might not want to leave.

Room Tip: If the Riad Dubai is full, Said has other accomodations.

Well where do I start, the Riad Dubai is a must if you are visiting Marrakech. We arranged a transfer from airport via the hotel, the taxi met us and took us to the Riad which is set in the walls of the Medina. Housni came to meet us at the end of the street and helped us with our baggage. When we entered the Riad, we left the craziness of the streets and walked into a tranquil haven where we were seated with a lovely glass of Peppermint Tea and given a brief on the local areas, where to go and not to go etc. We were introduced to the staff and were welcomed "home" which is how it felt. The place is very safe and we would even go out with our door unlocked.

Our room was lovely, we were dubious about room 1 after reading reviews but it was fine and Housni even said if we were not happy he would try and resolve.

The rest of the staff were amazing, Abdul and Hassan providing us with amazing breakfast and dinner. The tagine's and skewers were to die for. We used to take breakfast quite late so it lasted us and this was never a problem and we would sit up on the roof terrace which was a joy. The sun was blazing, there was a berber tent which you could go in for shade or lovely sun loungers if you wanted to take in some warmth. The evenings were pleasant but sometimes you needed a light cardi just over shoulders.

The personal touchers were excellent, on the first morning, drying my hair, my hairbrush broke and Housni even went as far as going to the shop and buying superglue. Faultless.

The only thing I would suggest is if you take the Ourika Valley trip, be prepared, it doesnt state that it is quite a strenuous walk, two of our party from the coach couldnt make it and myself and another person went up and it was very strenuous, very rocky - almost rock climbing in parts, it was fantastic and well worth it but if you decide to go, take very good grip footwear and be prepared for a climb.

The Riad was located near the palace and therefore only about 10 min walk to the Old Square, in the evening it was quite overwhelming with the amount of locals around but there is a lot of guards dotted around and there is no trouble what so ever, just takes a bit of getting used to.

For anyone travelling to Marrakech, this is definately a place to stay, we did bed, breakfast and evening meal, but even if you only eat there a few nights and experience eating in the square, but definately recommend tagines in the Riad with Chicken and Citrus, Keftas(Koftas??), lamb tagine, morroccan salad being a must.

Room Tip: take suitable footwear for Ourika Valley trip.
