“Wonderful Time at Riad Dubai!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

We have just spend 4 nights at Riad Dubai and had the most amazing welcome from Said and his team. We felt extremely well looked after, we were given lots of useful information and tips for a stress free holiday. The rooms at the Riad were really comfortable and clean. We ate twice in the Riad, and we found the food to be nicer than the restaurants. Breakfast on the roof terrace every morning was lovely. We also went on a trip to the Atlas Mountains, arranged by Said, it was an amazing day out, and we would strongly recommend this to anyone visiting Marrakech. It was a one hour taxi ride to get there, but it was a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of the busy city. At the end of each day, it felt like going home, going back to our lovely accommodation. Said and his team are truly fabulous and it was a complete privilege to meet them and to spend time in this awesome Riad. THANK YOU RIAD DUBAI!!!

I cannot tell you how pleased we were to arrive at Riad Dubai. Having had our hotel cancelled at last minute we'd booked Riad Dubai after reading the reviews on trip advisor, and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted with the delicious local mint tea and some little sweets.
The riad is run by a lovely couple who go to every effort to make your stay amazing. We had a few ideas of what we wanted to do while we were there but after a chat on arrival there were so many things to fit in. The owners help you with everything from trips to changing your money to where to eat. Don't change money at the airport, there is a better place in town which you'll be directed to!
The Riad is a typical Moroccon Riad with a beautiful courtyard in the middle filling it with light and the rooms sorround this. It's a small but cosy bed and breakfast making you feel at home straight away. And the rooms are just stunning, large and decorated in the most intricate way. We had dinner there one night which you can add on for a small cost and was AMAZING home Moroccon cooking!!! The rest of the time we ate in the stalls in the main square which I would thoroughly reccommend. and breakfast filled us for the day so we just had lovely freshly squeezed orange juice from the stalls during the day and maybe the odd small snack from all the stalls. Finally there's a beautiful roof terrace which we had breakfast on the first morning- it was too cold the other mornings but is a nice place to sit and relax if the weather is nice!
It's situated in the medina (the old town) in the little streets. We felt safe walking around day or night, I only jumped on the first night when some local kids playing games find it funny to jump out at you-they're not aggressive but just little kids playing games. My partner thought it would be funny to play the trick back the following night sending them running away in fits of giggles. A very safe and welcoming neighbourhood. It's in walking distance from everything in the old town including the square, the sooks (markets) in the main area and the spice markets, and some of the sights. The new town is slightly further away but you are within walking distance from one of the stops of the double decker red tourist bus which takes you all around the old and new town with headphones pointing out the sights.
We booked a trip into the atlas mountains which was beautiful, although I think if we did it again we'd do a private tour so you could stop along the way and not feel rushed at certain places where we'd have liked to spend a bit more time. But the tour was a good way of seeing a brief part of the mountains and not get hassled if that's what you'd prefer and the walk to the waterfalls was stunning. The other thing we treated ourselves to was the hamman booked through the riad which was amazing!!! 2hours of your own personal steam/hot rock room, full body scrub and then an hours full body massage. And at £35, although a little expensive by moroccon standards, compared to british prices we thought it was a steal, and pure luxury!!!!! Everyone should go!
The weather had ups and downs, although I would say it is FREEZING at night so make sure you take a warm jumper/coat! We had sunny days and slightly rainy days but a wonderful trip!
Thank you Riad Dubai!!

Riad Dubai is a great place to stay and we would highly recommend this very personal Riad experience! We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of our time there. Said, the owner, is a fantastic host and nothing is too much trouble for him and his staff. The lamb and prune tagine we ate here was the best meal we had in Morocco…..yum!! If ever we come back to Marrakesh we would definitely want to stay at the Riad Dubai again and will be recommending it to our friends.

We have just returned from Marrakech. We booked Riad Dubai after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor. Lo and behold we werent disappointed!
Booking was as easy as it gets with confirmation of amount and nights via email and also the pick up time from airport.
The Riad is situated in the Kasbah part of the Medina and away from the madness of the souks and Jema el fena. However its only about 20 mins walk. It is very easy to find as its near one of the main entrances to Medina (old city) ' Bab Ksibah' and directions are signposted.
The owner Said is a perfect host and from the moment we entered the Riad we were made to feel at home. I completely agree with other reviewers that its home away from home. We were welcomed with Moroccon tean and sweets and he went through stuff that maybe of interest to us and things we ought to see.
They can book your excursions and hammam experience if you like. We didnt book any excusrions etc.
Breakfast on the roof terrace was brilliant! Rooms were nicely decorated and clean and Mustapha and Said were more than helpful. Said's stories are great and after a good meal are a must! The food at the Riad is also very good ( of course you have to inform them earlier in the day if you would like food)!
All in all a great experience made even better by staying at this Riad. Its not a 5 star hotel but its authentic and cosy. If you are in Marrakech you have to experience staying at a Riad and I wouldn't recommend any other but this!!

we arrived to morocco to be met by our driver bringing us to the riad (organised by them). we arrived to the riad after walking through the local streets of the kasbah, upon arrival we were met by Siad (owner), mustafa & malika. we sat down for mint tea with said as he told us more about morrocco, marakech, local traditions and the sights to see. after sitting with him for a short while we were given a tour of what can only be described as a breathtaking riad we felt like we had know him for years.
After settling into our room in which we found a fresh basket of fruit and bottles of water, we had a coffee on the excellent roof terrace and started to plan our day.
we went down stairs to said and booked a few excursions which he had gone through with us when we arrived. we had booked to go quad biking, a trip to the ourika valley, fantasia show,an excellent 2 hour massage and scrub in a hammam and a two day one night in the sahara, all of which were excellent, being picked up from the entrance and brought to and from the place (well worth booking with said).
the riad is set in the heart of old marrakech and is only 10 minute walk the the main square where the magic happens.(exellent location)
The rest of the week we were so well looked after, as soon as we had breakfast we would come back to our room and had been cleaned in such a short time. also having breakfast on the roof terrace at anytime(we were not the earliest risers) mustafa would come and set our table and be so happy to see us every morning, afternoon and evening (and early hours).
breakfast and all the food and drinks were amazing.
we met a couple of girls from london who were having a bad experiance at their riad and came over to our for the afternoon, they wanted to leave their riad and stay here but unfortunatley riad dubai was full. both girls are looking to come back to morocco and are looking into booking the riad dubai.
i once again cant find enough words to describe this riad and the service that said and mustafa gave to us. But from the bottom of our hearts i would like to say a big big bigbig thank you for the whole week, we had an amazing time and will definatly be back,(already trying to get more people to come and see the riad)

thank you, your friends

We have just returned after 5 nights at Riad Dubai and couldn't have asked for more as Said and Mustafa looked after us beautifully. We contacted the Riad before we left and they arranged transport from the airport and we also had a couple of wonderful (and very generous) 3 course meals there which were delicious. Breakfast was also wonderful and served late in the morning whenever we got up. We ate on the roof terrace every day in the morning sunshine which was perfect. The Riad is cosy and beautifully decorated with lots of character and the location was great - a quick taxi ride or 15 min walk along the main road on one side to reach the main square, or a slightly longer meander along the Rue De La Kasbah with all it's sights and smells on the other side but very easily accesible for everywhere. All in all a great experience!

We stayed for nine days at the riad and absolutely loved it. It is an oasis of calm when the mayhem of the souks gets too much, but still not too far from all the action. We also liked that it was located in a very 'local' feeling part of the medina and surrounded by regular homes and families just going about their day. Said and his staff were wonderful, we felt like part of the family and spent many happy hours just chatting about life in Morocco. They were happy to answer any of our questions, and were so helpful with everything.
We ate several times during our stay, the meals were delicious and plentiful we often were so full we could hardly move!
The rooftop is a lovely place to relax and read a book or plan your day, and a great spot to enjoy the yummy breakfast each morning.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay at this welcoming, beautifully decorated riad again, and would recommend it to those who are looking for a home away from home while in Marrakech.
