We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay, Poulou cooked us delicious meals and Martine couldn't do enough to help us. On our first evening we were very tired and Martine very kindly offered to serve us dinner on our own so we could relax and soak it all in. Lunch in the garden was delightful - the garden runs down to the river and we sat looking across at the orchard and the mountains on the other side.
If you are planning on doing the Ourika Valley waterfalls walk, we would definitely recommend hiring an official guide. Poulou and Martine know the man who runs the official tour guide office, and they recommended we do this. Our guide Hassan was very effective at warding off offers of "help" from hasslers around the tourist shops at the start of the walk, he took us on a route with lovely views over the valley and even bought us fresh prickly pears when we said we hadn't tried them before!
We were staying in Marrakech and hired a grand taxi to take us here for a weekend. This was a cheap way of getting there (about 60 dirham each) and Martine was very helpful in arranging to find a grand taxi to take us back. The house was easy to find from where the taxi dropped us off in Setti Fatma - there's a big sign on the gate saying Au bord de l'eau" so it would be hard to miss it.
The rooms were clean and comfortable - we hired the suite of rooms and had dinner outside on our own private terrace under the stars. Poulou's cooking was definitely a highlight of the stay - some of the best we tried in Marrakech and the sorbets made with fresh local fruit were especially good.
Thank you Martine and Poulou for a lovely weekend - we have very happy memories of our stay!
