“Beautiful Riad, dedicated staff and owner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Riad Laurence Olivier is amazing. We stayed with Laurence in March, at the end of a whirlwind trip and it was the perfect place to relax. The Riad is elegantly decorated in traditional Moroccan style with a beautiful courtyard and pool. It has top notch amenities. We took advantage of the personal chef and spa;) It was our first time to Morocco and the entire staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Riad Laurence Olivier is a calm retreat after exploring exciting Marrakech. We can't wait to go back!

We were glad we booked Riad Laurence-Olivier. We were collected (and returned) from the airport by their driver and as it was our first visit to Marrakech Laurence personally guided us around the Medina and souks, showing us the best places to purchase items, also where to find ATMs. She explained the tipping structure and the cost of taxi rides to various places. These things were so helpful and useful in enabling us to have a great holiday experience. Laurence is pleased to offer help and advice wherever she can to all her guests.

The Riad is Laurence and Olivier’s home, situated away from the tourist areas, with 4 guest bedrooms, all superbly furnished. Guests are looked after by the staff of 5 and nothing is too much trouble. Lunch and dinner is available as optional extras and highly recommended. If you are too full from breakfast then Morrocan petit fours and freshly squeezed orange juice are a Laurence-Olivier Riad option.

Room Tip: All rooms excellent.

Stayed here for 5 nights for a winter getaway to Marrakesh.
The Riad and the rooms have been beautifully decorated in Moroccan style with a lot of love for detail. I appreciated the local soaps and lotions in the bathroom.
The staff is very friendly and attentive, flawless airport transport, they even prepared us breakfast at 5am when we had to leave early to get our flights. The owners Laurence and Olivier are lovely people, full of good tips.
The breakfasts on the sunny terrace surrounded by flowers with the home made orange juice, yoghurt, jam, cake etc are very enjoyable. We had a traditional Moroccan dinner twice at the Riad and each time it was fantastic, skillfully prepared and way more than we could eat. I loved the fact that the Riad only has 4 rooms, we hardly ever saw the other guests so really had privacy. And also the beautiful big pool, which is truly unique for a Riad in Marrakesh, and the nice garden (we enjoyed feeding the turtles, be careful not to step on them!), I wish we had spent more time to relax there but there are so many things to discover in Marrakesh. Location is not super central in the Medina so be prepared to mix with the locals and walk 10 minutes to get to the main areas (watch out for the mopeds!). Or simply get a cab (ask the staff to hail one for you and to explain to the driver where you are going. Also make sure to agree on the price beforehand). I recommend staying at this Riad if you want to relax in a quiet beautiful haven away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina.

Room Tip: ask for the rooms that don't have windows towards the street as it can get a bit noisy :-)

A driver was waiting for us at the airport and take us comfortably to the riad. And than, we arrived to such a wonderful place where the owner (Laurence) was waiting for us with a great smile and a very very nice breakfast near the pool... Wonderful welcome!
And than, the bedroom, typical decoration but really very good taste and very comfortable. Lots of small details but really beautiful.
Possible to make an hammam followed of a massage. I have done it and it was just great!
Laurence was always available to give us some tips regarding places to visit, shopping, restaurants... And everything she suggested to us, was more than worsted!
Swimming pool just great.
3 wonderful days. Already gave the address to several friends and I'll be back for sure!!!
Thank you Laurence!

What a wonderful Riad. Laurence and her staff are so accommodating and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night in this stunning Riad. While within the medina walls, it was lovely to be slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. we found it very easy and enjoyable taking our daily walk into the square (approx 15min) and taking in the sights and smells of the locals going on their daily lives. The meals were amazing, the decore inspiring and the courtyard and pool area were a wonderful place relax in the evenings. We will be back in Morocco in 2015 and look forward to staying again.

Thank you to Laurence and her fabulous staff for making our stay so memorable and wonderful. We loved everyone and everything at your Riad. Thank you also for making Guy's special birthday so very special and memorable. We loved the chicken pastille and the orange cake not to mention the wonderful breakfast and superb orange juice. I miss the smell of the orange trees, the myrrh and frankinsense, the resounding laughter of your friendly staff. What a wonderful restful haven to return to after the delights of the medina. Merci beaucoup. Would love to return someday. Au revior.

I was meaning to write a review following our amazing stay at Riad Laurence Olivier, following our stay in March 2012, but alas, time got away from me, and it is now one year one from when we stayed at Laurence's beautiful riad, and I still remember the amazing time we had there and wish I was there this March! So I have finally got around to writing a review! This is quite possibly one of the best accomodations I have had. The riad has been beautifully renovated, with attention to every detail. Each piece of furniture and artwork is absolutely beautiful. It feels like a tranquil oasis when you come back into the riad from the busy medina and the perfect place to stay in Marrakech. The staff were absolutely amazing, so accomodating, with nothing ever a bother and so friendly yet discreet. The breakfasts were amazing with everything you could want and all fresh. We had dinner at the riad and it was one of the best dinners we had in Marrakech. The pool area was just beautiful as well. And finally, the host, Laurence was so lovely and full of information on Marrakech and made us feel welcome in her 'home'. It was an amazing experience and I hope to get back to Riad Laurence Olivier one day, but I suspect when this 'hidden' gem comes out, it will be always booked! Thank you Laurence and your staff for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful and different.
