“Little gem if you want real Marrakech”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here with my 16 month old son.
First time in morocco!
Took a taxi from the main square as it's easy to get lost in the mazes!!
Really is in the heart of Marrakech!
Stayed for 7 nights before going on to a ramada spa hotel 20miles away.

Had a random drunk tell me to watch my child as children go missing.. Made me feel awkward!
Also, get ready for a verbal altercation if you take photos from the distance of any of the tourist attractions such as snake charmers!!

Back to the riad! Each room was individually decorated.

Spotlessly clean!

My bathroom smelt of wee despite it being clean.. I guess that's from guys missing the toilet and the tile grout harbouring the odour!

We were the only guests, rarely saw the staff so felt like we had a huge house to ourselves!

When we did see the staff, they were so helpful despite knowing little English.

Very safe! My boy crawled around, he didn't harm himself.

I would definitely return in the future!

Ps, a good 15min walk from the square.. A busy interesting walk though :)

Riad Dar El Ghali is really a wondeful new riad in a very quiet corner of the Marrakech's medina that is a chaotic and crowded place.
Book with confidence, they offer a very good price for the quality of the rooms/riad. Kept by a friendly and very funny hotelkeeper, however she speak only french and arabic, helpful for any touristic advice. Great to have the breakfast on the terrace!!
The Riad is in a good position, close to the the central square Djemaa El Fna and many other touristic attractions. The best way to arrive there is by "Small taxy" (also the best way to move in Morocco, forget about local buses!), however is just 5-10 min walking from the Gare routiere, the main bus station of the town.

Room Tip: There are just few rooms, so just ask one on the ground floor if you cannot go up by stair.

A absolute delight - Peace and tranquility is just what is needed after a day in the Medina !
really nice room , very clean and tidy with a real authentic feel to the decorations
The staff were very helpful - speaking french and seemingly always available
The breakfast was a real treat - especially the fresh orange juice
All in all a great place to stop and very reasonable price too
The only downside was getting there first time - there are a lot of streets - I would recommend giving them a ring for directions as it is very easy - when you know
