“Was OK ..nothing more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Dined here recently with 4 friends. A bit of a struggle to get to from the main square. The dining room is large and beautifully tiled. The tables are well spaced and the ambience is fair. The service was hit n miss though with some obvious juniors missing the beat when it came to understanding how to serve or what to do. The food was reaosnably priced but nothing extraordinary on offer outside the main dishes you get in any resaurant in Marrakech. Order the smaller portioned menu as the food amount served is large. The wine list was limited but reaosnably priced. They could do without the shrill guitarist who sat there for 2.5 hours playing Morroccan versions of western melodies that were are real offence to your sensibilities. We were almost tempted to pay him to stop playing.

“Thank you TA & Red House!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

After a long hard day schlepping around the Medina, souks and Jamaa el Fna, we just wanted somewhere pleasant close to our hotel so we could walk there & back for a quiet meal, & be back early to bed on our last day in Marrakech. So a quick search on TA came up with the Red House less than 10 minutes walk away, with some very encouraging reviews.

It was much better than that.

A beautiful room, really friendly and helpful staff and an excellent choice of Moroccan and French food in the fixed price menu.

I had the bisque which was sublime, followed by John Dory and risotto which was also excellent, with a really good Moroccan white recommended by the staff. My wife had Noisettes St Jacques then fillet steak, also excellent, with very good Moroccan red wine.

Maybe we had OD'd on the excellent bread, but we had no room for desserts.

Our accompaniment was a live Moroccan guitar (sorry I don't know the name of the instrument nor the style, but it was very good). Sadly we had to leave before the belly dancers arrived, but a complimentary Armagnac made up for it.

Just a great experience and a fine way to round off our holiday.

“Fine dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

We visited this restaurant as a last minute decision whilst sipping cocktails at Mamounia Hotel so didnt make a reservation. We are so glad we visited. It was beautiful, the decoration was like a Palace and we could have still been in the Mamounia but half the prices!! we were looked after very well and the menu was explained in English. There was a music playing whilst we ate and then a belly dancer came out and entertained us. We chose the fixed starter and main for 350 dirhams. The food was gorgeous and plentiful. We left very happy customers and would 100% recommend this restaurant. The best restaurant of our stay.
