“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

Luxurious Hotel & Spa, out of the way from the main attractions but theres a free shuttle service to take you to the square, staff are good, had problems with Wifi, and breakfast is always the same apart from that its excellent.

Me and my partner just arrived back from here after a 5 night stay from Monday 14th October 2013. We booked it on the cheap as a little city break and to get a bit of sun! Well, we definitely did get some sun. The weather was perfect, around 29/30 degrees everyday but not too muggy - could happily sit in it all day. We was put in room 116, which was perfect! To my knowledge, it was just a standard double room but seemed more like a superior room! The decor was modern, plush and tasteful with a comfortable large bed and tv. The A/C is very very noisy though, I managed to sleep through it but sounded like a constant vacuum. The bathroom was also lovely with a large bath. There was also a reasonable size balcony which overlooked a really pretty garden area. Room was cleaned everyday, bed made and fresh towels. Pool area was lovely, plenty of sun beds but pool is always freezing! The pool side CD is also on repeat all day, every day - which gets very annoying. Small but practical free gym for use and spa seemed lovely but didn't go there myself. Short distance via taxi to the medina & souks. However be prepared to pay a lot for taxis on the evening. Our stay came with breakfast as well which was a continental buffet. It had fresh fruit, bread, cakes, cereals and eggs. The evening food lacked in variety. Me and my partner ate at the Italian every night which was ok, but never went to the Moroccan and the International Buffet was expensive. Also, the alcoholic is very expensive! Be prepared to pay about 80/90 dirhams for a cocktail, which is about £8! The staff are lovely and do try to help you as much as possible but it is quite difficult as they are all French and spoke little English. A guy called Faycal who worked in the Italian made a big impression on us, he was lovely! And also Mohammed, a waiter was always really smiley and friendly. But, the language barrier also proved a problem when ordering room service or food from the restaurants. Further to this, it came to my knowledge that during the time we went, it was Eid and as part of a religious ceremony the slaughtered a sheep next the pool area for everyone to see which I was not very happy about! It isn't very nice to see when your trying to relax by the pool! Would have been better if they did it in a not so public area or not in the hotel at all. So if your a little queazy, I would suggest not to go during this time. We did one trip during our stay which was a camel ride. Very fun but kills your inner thighs! Apart from the few minor downfalls from this hotel, it was possibly the best holiday i've ever been on. The hotel is definitely up to a 5* standard but the food could be improved and so could language. Would definitely recommend this hotel though and return myself.

My husband and I spent 2 wonderful weeks at this hotel. We were upgraded to a spacious suite with a steam room and we had a large balcony too, the room was cleaned & linen & towels changed daily. The breakfasts were fine with a good variety of fruit, pastries etc but watch out for the birds! The staff were all very friendly and the pool area was great with lots of sun loungers & towels and a small childrens pool & area too. The Italian restaurant was nice but the Moroccan could be better. Entertainment is lacking but you can walk over the road to the Palm Plaza who have a good singer & keyboard player and a great buffet. The shuttle bus is great and the security guys can get you an inexpensive taxi when required. Visit the Atlas Mountains & Essourira (a coastal resort) or Agadir - try the opentop bus to familiarise yourself with Marrakech and the souks & medina at night are awesome. Some good restaurants in the new town as well as near the souks. 5 min walk to a shopping centre with ATM, supermarket and fast food places too. Nice relaxing hotel in a great up & coming area, about 10 mins away from the medina. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We were really pleasantly surprised with how nice the hotel was. V plush. Lovely swimming pool. It was super quiet when we were there so lots of available sun loungers. Yes its true that they do have the same cd on repeat everyday. It is quite annoying so bring an ipod! The restaurants were reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel and the italian was v nice. Only major downside were the birds at breakfast. They were literally bathing in the cake and bread plates so we steered clear of those! It was actually v funny to watch but so unhygienic! The rooms were lovely and the bed extremely comfy. The free shuttle to tge city centre was handy but not frequent enough although taxis were only 4-5 pounds. Marrakech is an amazing destination and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My husband and I have just returned from the hotel where we stayed for a week with our 4 year old. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The standard room was rather small for the bed to be put in for our son so the lovely manager Amin upgraded us. Amin, thank you! The swimming pool was great and there were plenty of sun loungers and towels. However I can imagine it gets busy at peak season and a kids pool would have been a bonus. There is no night entertainment but it suited us fine as we were in bed by 10pm! The food was good but not excellent. We were half board but after a week, it got rather monotonous. Far better to eat out. Breakfast was fantastic and there was plenty of choice. The pizza was from the cafe near the pool was cheap and very yummy. Moroccon food wasnt as tasty as the one in Djema el fana. The shuttle bus was a godsend as our son wanted to go to Djema el fana everyday. Taxis are cheap. We paid 40 durhams for the square and 100 dur for the airport. The spa was beautiful and reasonably priced. Highly recommended. All in all we had a good time and will recommend this hotel.

Just got back from four days in Marrakesh loved it. Hotel just the right distance, very clean and good service. Would definatly go back. We only had breakfast which had a good choice as went out for the afternoon after relaxing by the pool. No problem getting sun bed and towels provided. We did not catch shuttle bus as did not want to wait so got a taxi which were parked just across the road and only £5 . Walk 5 mins to the left of the hotel and you will find Bank ,shopping mall, super market and fast foods up stairs. Night club 555 and another one were ten mins away but did not go as busy doing other things.Found everyone very friendly but happy to go with flow when we first ordered a cab to the square it stopped at two other places on the way asking if we wanted to see for no further cost one was a leather shop and the other herbs and beauty products . We we happy to take his advice and pleased we did.Just go with the flow and take in all the sights you will love Marrrkech.

When we arrived at reception we were VERY impressed. The reception was funky and slick, I loved the modern feel to it. We got to our rooms and again we were impressed, a spacious room with a high celining. Everything was was very clean. The walls were a bit dirty and some of the walls cracked but to me thats nothing! Although my mum was fussing saying it wasnt quite up to scratch considering it was a 5*

On a first night, we went to the Moroccan restuarant. We found out the Japanese was not open neither was the nightclub :(. Im afraid I wasnt impressed with the food on this night. We had chips with a mixed grill. Chips were very salty and its like they had just slabbed different bits of meat onto a plate. No real taste. Im glad to say breakfast was lovely with fresh omlettes being cooked in front of you. In terms of hot food, there wasnt that much choice but you did have the lovely pastry/cake section along woith cold meats and cereals. Yes - as said in the other reviews there are birds flying about but it didnt bother me so much. As long as they were not coming near my food!

The evenings were a bit souless as mentioned in another review. There really wasnt much to do. It would have been great if there was some sort of entertainment. Its ashame because the grounds are so nice. I advise to go to Jet hotel across the road which has a live singer most nights along with entertainment.

The hotel is about 10 mins from airport if that. Make sure you are not charged more than 100 Dirhams (£9) to get you to hotel. They will try and rip you off! Me and my mum use to walk to the medina on most days which took about 45 mins but we wanted to work off all the cakes we had for breakfast! There is also the opiton of a free shuttle bus but I can imagine it will be over subscribed during the busier months. For us it was fine and often used it when we were coming back from town. Taxi to medina is about 50 dirham so not too bad.

All in all a lovely stay and a lovely hotel!! It could just do with some sort of entertainment.
