Our visit to Marrakech was made very special by our stay at Riad Badia. Our host, Laurent, couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The riad is quite lovely, and our room very comfortable. The terraces, where we had a delicious breakfast, and public spaces were wonderful, and the service by the efficient staff was unfailingly excellent. The riad is well-located in its proximity to good restaurants and sites. We will definitely recommend it to our friends!

Everything everyone else has said on TripAdvisor reviews are all true. Riad Al Badia is a lovely place, the rooms are beautiful and tranquil. The service was charming, efficient and hospitable. Laurent Olier, Ahmed and his team provide outstanding hospitality and care. We travelled with our two young sons aged 12 and 10, who were treated with such kindness at Riad Al Badia. They were horrified to have flooded the courtyard when they used the plunge pool and were amazed that the the staff were so unconcerned. It is worth having at least one evening meal on the terrace as it is such a lovely experience and the food was lovely. The breakfasts are very good and served whenever you want it. We certainly hope to return and would recommend this Riad to anyone visiting Marrakech. It is very well located for key cultural sites to the south of the Medina and is easy walking distance to Djemaa el Fna.

Room Tip: The rooms on the first floor are lovely.

Dear Madam,
I thank you very much for your lovely message. We all would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for this fabulous meeting. We still remember you for so many reasons, your kindness, your delicacy, your interest in our culture, all the love that came out of your small family all the generous feelings and attentions you gave to everyone of us, it was a pure delight having you among us these few days. Icing on the cake, your two sons are so lovely, so well educated it was just an enchantment, they are still young and already true gentlemen. Congratulations and no word will be able to express our gratitude for this truly emotionnal experience and short story we shared with you four. So thank you again and take good care of the four of you.

One can really only risk repeating what others have said about this place and especially its world class staff. From the moment we arrived we were treated like we owned the place, literally as if "this is your home" is their mantra.

The staff- from the affable and incredibly knowledgeable Laurent, to his colleagues Ahmed (and Ahmed 2!) and the girls Emma, Samera and Hannan who sort the food and all your needs in terms of feeling comfortable, the place is top notch with a top staff.

The facilities are like a tardis - when you enter you cannot really believe how much they have managed to fit inside, the rooms are airy and beautifully planned and fitted out, with the welcome use of air-con and nice touches like fresh flowers, different pillows for the climate - (e.g satin in the morning, cotton at night etc) and incense to really add a thought out touch of class. The pool is refreshing and cold, the roof terrace perfect for tanning and breakfast/diner in the open air.

Add to that the excellent food which was top value, and the touches like the fact they advised us on places to visit, restaurants, and even walked us around the town on our first trip out to show us the main places and give us tips, it really was the finest "hotel" experience we had ever experienced.

We were overwhelmed by the choice of riads and chose this one on the basis of trip advisor reviews. I was a little nervous therefore as we picked our way down the little alley to find it. The welcome by the staff was so warm. We were given mint tea and advice on our plans to explore the city. The homemade food is a treat and we highly recommend the evening meal. We wholly agree with all the excellent reviews - extraordinary service makes the experience.

Dear Madam,
I thank you for your long review, and I feel a bit frustrated to read that you had such a hard time in Marrakech especially as you did not mention it once while at the riad, nor leaving. We do regularly receive single ladies or couple of friends and this is the first time we read that type of experience. Yes ladies are looked at, approached often… we would have loved to hear about it, even if we would not have been able to do a lot. Regarding towels also, I feel frustrated that you mention it now, after departure, as this is not at all the standard at Riad Al Badia, where we do have 2 services a day. I suppose that a mix-up between towels happened this day that happened, but having the information we would have been able to apologize for the mix-up and changed towels as girls will do absolutely every day in every room, review at night at time of opening beds. We were all delighted to receive you and we do keep a very warm souvenir of your stay among us, this is a pitty that we hear all of this now, reading your review. Once again, I can guarantee you that you were absolutely welcomed to Riad Al Badia, and in Marrakech in general, we definitely have some bad people like anywhere else in the world, but mainly people are friendly and welcoming. If one day you change your mind and decide to visit Marrakech again, we hope to have the pleasure to see you again, as you are home at Riad Al Badia, you know this. Thank you for everything you gave us and take good care of both of you.

This review is a bit overdue, as we stayed at this amazing Riad back in November 2010. It was still rather new then, but judging from all the positive reviews since then it looks like Laurent, Ahmed, and the rest of the team are still hard at work making travellers' holidays an amazing experience.

Laurent was the perfect host, and personally sat down with each arriving group for as long as they needed, to explain more about the wonderful city of Marrakech.

Ahmed is an excellent organiser, and was able to help us book restaurants, hamams (follow his recommendation), and hot air ballooning with no issues.

As other reviewers have said, it was a relief to have a home where we could escape to when the sensory overload that is Marrakech gets all too much. A cup of mint tea, feet dangling in the cool indoor pool, and a book was the perfect pick-me-up.

Try the dinner at least once, it was one of the best meals we had in Marrakech (and we visited the supposedly top two restaurants in the city).

Be aware that the Riad is set back from the main road (such as it is) so may be tricky to find upon first arrival, but you will quickly get used to it. Although it isn't on the main road, it is still perfectly safe to get in and out (there was a single female traveller staying with us and she reported no issues).

Great location too as its easily walking distance to most places you will want to go.

More like being a guest in a home than a hotel, very highly recommended.

Thank you once again for this lovely message and take good care of both of you.

Laurent and all the staff could not do enough for us and made us feel so welcome that we felt right at home.
We spent a week here exploring the city, getting lost and finding ourselves again which was all part of the fun. The riad itself is close to the Palaces and the storks that nest on El Badia Palace were a regular site overhead.
We walked to and from the riad everyday as it isnt that far and you get to explore as you go.....and check out the souks and stalls on the way.
The riad can organise airport transfers and excursions for you and are resonably priced.

We cannot recommend this riad enough!

We did our research when choosing a Riad and went for this one because of the excellent reviews, they are pretty much bang on as the service is probably the best I have received in any accomodation we have stopped in. Laurent arranged for our transportation from the airport and we were greated by Ahmed on our arrival, with some mint tea and pastries. Ahmed is a great guy, he gave us a good guide to finding our way around Marrakech and some places he suggested to visit and he walked us to the square on our first time out which was a nice touch.
We stopped in the turquoise room, the beds are comfy and I slept well the whole holiday (unusual for me as I'm a light sleeper) - the rooms are also kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast is great in that they will serve is to you (inside or on the terrace) at any time that suits you and they are great in making you feel that nothing is too much trouble. Any spa's, excursions or restaurant meals can be booked by one of the staff.
I'd recommend having dinner at the Riad for one night as the food is excellent. I would highly recommend Riad Al Badia as a place to stay, it really made our holiday.
