“Third time's the charm (but so was the first and second)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2012

I just returned home from leading my third EAT.PRAY.MOVE yoga retreat at Peacock Pavilions, and just as always - it was a magical experience. Every little detail here is taken care of for you - from travel arrangements to the scrumptious desserts. I always look forward to going back to Marrakesh to spend time at the beautiful Pavilions, see the owners and staff which make you feel like long-time friends, and truly retreat from the day to day. Whether it's lounging by the pool watching the song birds swoop in for a drink, enjoying the sunset from one of the terraces, or savoring a meal in the exotic dining tent - a trip to Peacock Pavilions is one that you won't forget. Set just outside the hectic city, it's a great refuge after a day of site-seeing. Don't miss out on a chance to experience it!

“Like a Dream!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2012

I spent a week here in February 2012 and it was absolute perfection. Maryam and Chris were the best hosts and flawlessly catered to the needs of our group; whether it was vegetarian dining or hot water bottles for our beds, every need was taken care of. The rooms are even more beautiful in person and the living areas are so lovely that it's hard to pry yourself away to explore the city. One of my favorite things about staying at Peacock Pavillions, aside from the amazing food and decor, were the little bits of myth and magic Maryam would describe about the surrounding country and people. I will definitely find a reason to get back to this place!

Room Tip: I got the chance to see each room and they are all absolutely amazing! You can't lose.

“A Moroccan Jewel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

This is the place to stay in Marrakesh!

Peacock Pavilions (the name was enough to lure me there) is exquisite in every way. It doesn't feel like a hotel. Rather, you feel you're staying in the (incredibly exotic) home of good friends.

Chris and Maryam are fabulous hosts, happy to chat and tell stories but also great with advice and practical help. Their lovely staff are discreetly attentive. And the family pets wander about, contributing to the sense that you're really just a friend of the family who's come to stay.

Outside, the red earth stretches through the olive groves, lemons hang from the trees, a swing in the shade beckons you to sit on it. The air is scented by hedges of rosemary and the long pool is waiting to be dived into. On the other hand, the insides of the pavilions are such aladdin's caves, you may never make it outside. Maryam has brought together the most astonishing collection of treasures. Talk about style....

Food is superb. Beds immensely comfortable. Attention to detail quite staggering (the dinner table was never laid the same way twice throughout our visit). Everything has been plannd with flair and imagination.

Without question, one of the most special places I've ever stayed.....and one to which I've every intention of returning.

“Desert Enchantment at Peacock Pavilions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

Maryam and Chris have a passion for Marrakech that has been realized in the beautifully appointed guesthouses at Peacock Pavilions. The rooms are comfortable and luxuriously designed for the ultimate comfort of guests. Main areas make guests long to hang out, relax and take in all the wonder and history that make up the surroundings. No attention to detail is spared and the hosts are warm, engaging and knowledgeable about any questions their guests may have about Morocco and, Marrakech in particular. The myths, culture and customs of Morocco are woven into every aspect of this incredible property. And the owners make every attempt to run the property with sensitivity to their employees and with a deep respect for eco-consciousness.

Delectable, world-class cuisine is prepared with organic, local ingredients, including lemons, oranges, olive oil and herbs that are grown onsite. The location offers easy accessibility to Marrakech and other Moroccan cities visitors may wish to visit and also provides respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. One can linger poolside gazing at incredible views of the Atlas Mountains or wander around the stunning grounds.

Maryam and Chris make certain that any touristic, food or other guest needs are met. I can't wait to return and left knowing that I was more than a visitor—I have made friends for life. Thank you both for providing me with such a magical stay at Peacock Pavilions.

“A Dream in the Desert...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

Loved. That is the best word that can describe our experience. We felt loved and cared for not only by our wonderful hosts, Maryam and Chris, but the entire staff; the exquisite attention to the menu, the decor, our comfort - everything was flawless. The rooms are beautifully decorated and Maryam has gone to significant lengths to ensure the layers of gorgeous details were not only executed beautifully, but are incredibly livable and comfortable as well. The depth of thought that has gone into how the property and rooms are used is apparent and they left us wanting for nothing. We were not treated like clients, but family with a warm hearth waiting for us every evening and tales of Moroccan myths hanging in the air like magic. There is no question whether I will be back, the question is when. Thank you so, SO much Maryam and Chris!
