“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

I stayed at Riad Kheirredine with my partner in March 2013. It was our first time in Marrakech and we weren't disappointed. The riad was beautiful and maintained to a high standard. Customer service was fantastic. Coffee, mint tea (delicious), and water was available on request, alongside little nibbles (cakes, biscuits): all included in the room rate. Breakfast was plentiful and again to a high standard. We stayed in room Vervaine which was decorated beautifully. And then there was the roof terrace which did not disappoint. I highly recommend this riad - it was a real oasis of calm after walking through the busy bustling souks.

The last 2 reviews ranked it the best and I have to agree! After 2 weeks in Morocco changing riad every 2 or 3 days this is indeed THE BEST! The lady owner is Italian and it shows in an almost obsessive attention to details which are overlooked elsewhere. Few examples? The rooms have shutters! (I didn't find them anyplace else and was forced to wake up at 5!) The minibar is FREE (non alcoholics) and so is any soft drink you may want to consume at the riad (who ever heard of such a thing?) Riads to stay fresh usually have small windows and little light, not easy to perform a makeup, but here a magnifying mirror will help You out. The OBSESSION TO PLEASE YOU will go as far as giving You a cell phone to carry around to call if lost or in need of anything. Ismail will walk to to the taxi stand and to the famous Jemaa El Fna square (a good 20 minutes away) pointing out the way not to get lost on the way back and REFUSE A TIP (are we in Morocco?). The fabulous breakfast is served on the terrace, there is no wait since you call from your room 10 minutes before to find it ready for you, sticky fingers after a pastry? no need to go back to your room since a faucet is on the sunny terrace. I hope i gave You an idea this riad is not to be missed. It is a Riad, old and rich in fascion, but like all Riiad with steep stairs and relatively small room, it is not the Sofitel but I like it even more for that.

My wife and I have just returned from our trip to Spain and Morocco, and the highlight of our trip was without a doubt our stay at Riad Kheirredine. We chose this Riad because of it's high ranking (#3) and all of the great reviews previously from satisfied guests, and it greatly exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed for 4 nights so the Riad arranged for a transfer to and from Marrakesh airport. The driver was waiting for us as soon as we exited the terminal and brought us to Sidi Ben Slimane where we met Ismail, who helped us bring our bags to the Riad. Ismail immediately made us feel at home, as he was truly one of the kindest hearted people we have ever met in all our travels. After dropping our bags, he brought us to Jemaa El-Fna, showing us a a number of landmarks along the way and ensuring that we understood the route back to the Riad. He was a wonderful guide and a tremendous help throughout our stay, as we could always count on him to help us find certain sites or advise of things to do and see. The Riad is run brilliantly by Yajaira and Valentina, who continually went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible. They were always there to provide recommendations on sites, restaurants, and provide support to ourselves as well as any of the other guests whenever needed. We had a meal cooked at the Riad on our first night, which I would highly recommend. The meal was huge and included 6 salads/mezzes, soup, various breads and pastries, tagine, and dessert. It was one of the best meals we had during our stay and was a perfect introduction to Moroccan cuisine for our first night. Due to an overlap with some other bookings, we stayed in 2 rooms during our stay; Verveine the first 2 nights and Rose the last 2 nights. Verveine was a basic room, but much bigger than we expected and well worth the cost. The Rose room was a suite, which was also spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and more than big enough. We have stayed at a number of small and charming places throughout our world travels, but Riad Kheirredine was without a doubt the best. The Riad itself was in a perfect area in a more residential area of the Medina, not too far from Jemaa El-Fna, but it was the incredible staff that makes this place so special. From Valentina and Yajaira, to Ismail, Ibrahim, Abdul, Elena, and on and on, we have never felt so at home, so cared for, and so special as we did during our stay at Riad Kheirredine. These people were so kind, so humble, and so hard working; they truly touched our hearts and made us sad to leave this wonderful Oasis in the middle of such a crazy and chaotic place! We will be planning another trip to Morocco someday, in large part to return to this wonderful Riad. For whatever reason, their ranking has dropped in the past couple weeks, but I cannot imagine a better place to stay in all of Marrakesh. I have reached out to TripAdvisor to get the matter resolved, but in the meantime, you should book this Riad as it is without a doubt deserving of it's previous #3 ranking. Thank you staff at Riad Kheirredine for everything you did and for making this the greatest and most memorable trip of our lives!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Verveine and Rose; both were incredible and all rooms appeared to be uniquely decorated...

Every wonderful thing you have read about this riad is true! Valentina, Yajaira and the entire staff made us feel like we were visiting family. Indeed, when we couldn't make arrangements for an established cooking class, they arranged for us to shop, cook and dine with a local family which became the highlight of our whole Moroccan trip. Thank you Abdul and family!

Also be sure and take advantage of dinner at the hotel as it turned out to be the best meal we had. Although we have been traveling all over the world for many, many years, this was a truly unique and memorable experience. Don't miss it!

I can not recommend this Riad highly enough.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in January and had an amazing time. We felt so well looked after and nothing was too much trouble, from the warm welcome/orientation to the cellphones they provided to call with should we get lost, to walking us to the main square on our first day. Valentina and Abdul are two of the loveliest people and will help you out with absolutely anything - all the staff are great. Every time we arrived back from sightseeing we were offered refreshments, and everytime we left they checked whether we needed botled water - all complimentary.

The Riad was spotlessly clean and an oasis of calm after the craziness of the Medina. The breakfast was delicious and huge - we didnt even get through half of it - and we ate on the roof terrace overlooking the Medina every morning. The roof terrace has views right to the Atlas mountains and you can easlily spend all afternoon and evening up there lounging on the beds and sofas. Our room was lovely and comfortable and they made sure it was warm in the evening (it was January) and turned down the bed each night.

We walked pretty much everywhere from here - the narrow streets can be daunting but you can just call if you get lost, or they'll hail a taxi for you on your way out and negotiate the fare. Its about 15 minutes walk through the start/edge of the souks to Jmaa El Fnaa.

I have already recommended them to friends and wouldn't look anywhere else if I returned to Marrakech.

Room Tip: We stayed in Verveine - on the top floor with easy acces to the roof terrace.

What a wonderful stay at this Riad. This hotel deserves it's Top 5 place that it has previously been receiving
The element I was most impressed with was the wonderful welcome and service. All the staff could not have been more helpful, from Abdul who walked us to various locations, to Valentina who provided us with a full guide and mobile phones to keep with us for our whole stay (just in case). Even down to the fantastic maid service, rooms were spotless and cleaned twice a day, my blouse was ironed with no fuss and no cost! Everyone who works at this riad really know how to look after their guests.
The rooftop terrace is amazing, what a great place to have breakfast or relax in the afternoon with a beer and a nice glass of wine.
We had a traditional Marrocan meal the first night we arrived and it was delicious and one of the nicest Marrocan meals of our trip.
We stayed in Ambre room and I would thoroughly recommend it. The aminal print is great a bit quirky, our friends stayed in Rose and that was lovely too. Very nice that every room is different and has it's own style.
The riad is a little out of the way but only a 20 minute walk to the square, we found it really relaxing to be a little bit away from the madness and in the most historic part of the old city.

Having chosen Riad Kheirredine because of the excellent reviews we read on Trip Advisor we were not disappointed. Throughout our stay the hospitality we were offered was absolutely faultless, nothing was too much trouble.

Our airport transfer, arranged by the Riad, was effortless. On arrival we were greeted very warmly and served an amazing breakfast. Our room was tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable and kept spotlessly tidy during our stay.

Along with the outstanding service and our fantastic accommodation the other highlights of our Riad Kheirredine stay were; the previously mentioned breakfast, complimentary drinks, fruit and biscuits, the phone we were given for the duration of our stay and the great rooftop terrace.

To conclude, we cannot recommend Riad Kheirredine highly enough.
