“Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

The hotel was right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the locals. Me and my husband stayed there for three nights at the end of april. We had a smooth check in, and drank mint tea while we waited. We were shown to our room by Hassan. He upgraded us from the standard room the superior room. The room was big however it had a funny smell! the shower was over a bath tub. and the shower was not even head height so you had to hold the shower head, there was a glass door shielding the water however the water went everywhere when my husband has a shower, the water even went upto the door and into the room!!

There was a Mcdonalds 10minute walk away, and a pizza hut further down. We ended up going on a long walk one day, stopped for some where to eat and then we saw the minerat of the mosque so we walked and walked in that directions for a couple of hours ( we obviously got lost!!) eventually we ended up at jemaa el fna market, it took forever because we didn't know the route but it was fun and we even helped a japanese tourist find the market as well.

We ended up getting a horse and cart back to the hotel which cost us 150dh which took around 20minutes.

The area around the hotel wasn't safe at night, we were walking back from mcdonalds around midnight and were stopped by police (who didn't speak english) to ask us if we were okay. We were confused and said we were fine. Later on i remembered three men walking behind us before the police stopped and they dissapeared afterwards I think the police thought we were about to get mugged. So luckily the police were there at that minute!!!

Breakfast was dissapointing, they gave you once glass of orange juice at your table and then after that you had to keep asking, No one offered us a hot drink on the first day. All i ate was bread as nothing else was edible. I felt like we didn't feel welcome, as if it was a chore for the staff.

Overall, the hotel was clean and nice, bed was comfy although a little small for us as it was a double so my husband didn't sleep!

This hotel is very well located within a comfortable 20 minute walk to the central medina with restaurants, shops and an ice cream palour en route. We stayed in the 70s suite which is very spacious and relaxing and benefits from a large balcony overlooking the main thoroughfare into the city and copious magazines. Room service was prompt and included bringing us ice cold wine glasses which was appreciated.

Check-in was not very impressive with a lot of confusion over which rates we'd booked and breakfast staff were a little slow but overall the service was friendly. We had lunch in the brasserie which was very nice and the menu was varied. We also dined one evening in the Restaurant Le Mirador which was very peaceful and the meal was delicious.

As part of our booking, we received a complimentary hammam which whilst a interesting experience, I am not sure if I would be repeating as the service was not very personable nor was it relaxing. However, overall we throroughly enjoyed our stay and the opportunity to escape the bustle of the inner medina.

Room Tip: 70s suite is a interesting novelty - 70s decor!

We booked this hotel after reading such great reviews. It's not a 4 start hotel, although our room was clean, it was somewhat dated. Every time that we turned on the water or flushed the toilet, the pipes made an odd sound for about 30 minutes.

The decor reminded us of an outdated, contemporary, Austin Power's room. The breakfast was boring and the exact same menu for our 4 day stay including: hard boiled eggs, bread, cheese, fruit. Some days, the staff did not bring out additional food items. Finally we decided to get breakfast from a neighboring restaurant instead.

The hotel was in a great location, about 15 minutes from the airport and many other things. The room didn't cost us much. We booked on booking.com. Decent value for our money, but not a luxury stay.

Room Tip: Request working air and a good view. Your view may not be so good, but you'll have more room.

Good sunset bar in Nouvelle Ville. Small rooftop terrace with view of Marrakech. Don't bother with the cocktails- little alcohol for what you pay. Stick to wine or beer. Cool Vegas style neon sign adds to the ambience. Easy walking distance of al-Azar restaurant.

Superb hotel in an excellent location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The gorgeous foyer and luxurious rooms make this boutique hotel truly a "design" hotel. The food is heavenly and the rooftop pool offers a sanctuary away from the madness of the city. I would absolutely stay here again and can't recommend it enough. It deserves more than 5 stars.

Stayed here for 4 nights after looking at some great reviews here on Trip Advisor, those saying this place is great and "5 star" are deluded this is a 3 star at best!! There is not even room service and they don't even put water in the rooms each day.

Pro's - Good location for sites, Friendly staff, Free Internet.

Cons - Room was pretty filthy and run down, grubby bathroom etc, water did not drain properly from shower causing it to overflow after a couple of minutes, no room service, no water in the rooms, service in the Sky bar was sloppy and took ages to get a drink both times we went. No proper air conditioning, the rooms are also noisy as you are on a busy street / roundabout.

What an amazing hotel right in the heart of Marrakech!

The hotel is 15/20 min drive from the airport and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had the most enjoyable, luxurious stay at this hotel. Prior to booking, I had checked out this hotel and so knew it was a good one but was still surprised on arrival.

The reception staff were extremely helpful in everything. Including changing up money, recommending places to visit, arranging taxis and excursions etc. They always had a smile on their faces and had plenty of time for you. I'm rubbish with names but do remember Hassan :)

The room was lovely with a balcony looking over the busy streets of Marrakech. It can be a little noisy in the night but we liked it; it added to excitement of staying in the hustle and bustle of such a beautiful city. Great power shower, that was always hot. House keeping changed the towels everyday also and made sure the room was clean and tidy. The whole interior of the hotel was lovely; very modern.

The free breakfast every morning was always the same, but there was a range and plenty of it. The fresh orange juice that you will fall in love with by the time you leave, was a must every morning. We often had breakfast outside overlooking the pool and the city.

Skybar which is on the 6th floor of the hotel, gives you amazing views of the city and the Atlas mountains. Drink prices were reasonable and there was a range too. We also had drinks downstairs in the little bar which played good music in the evenings. We ate once in the restaurant on the 6th floor, again the food was great and the service was impeccable.

The souks/medina is only a short taxi ride away and there are lots of restaurants in the surrounding area. You can always pick up a taxi right outside the hotel and there is a tourist tour bus stop around the corner from the hotel as well as bus stops with buses that come regularly.

Things you must do: Visit Nikki Beach (massive swimming pool, with a great dj, food and drinks- however it is pricey), camel riding, visit the souks/medina (Jamaa el Fna- 10 mins from the hotel), go up the mountains, visit the waterfalls (we went to Ouzoud- 3hrs away), go to the beach (we went to Essaouira- 3 hrs away) and make sure you visit a traditional Moroccan Hammam spa (the hotel has its own Hammam spa, but there are loads in the area) and get a body scrub; amazing!

Tips: Always make sure you agree and barter the price of the taxi before you set off. As well as in the market square, they will charge you way more than they should. We often got things for a 1/3 of the original asking price. Also be careful in the souks. It is a great experience but you need to be firm with the entertainers who want money for everything, even for taking a picture!

Hope my review was helpful and enjoy :)
