“We where there again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

For the second time we have spent our X-mas holidays in the Riad Bleu Du Sud in Marrakech. What else is there to say? See my first review. Khadija and her team as well as the owner they are not just "Riad-Keepers". They are a team which you seldom can find in places like this. We are proud to have become a part of the "Riad-Family" and we will join this family as soon as it is possible in 2014.The service, the attention to every special wish and the personal warmth you get is just wonderful.
Who needs posh outside hotels, when you are in the middle of the bustling Medina, just a few minutes of walking to the famous Place Djemaa El Fna. You have to live the life of inhabitants, see how they use to live in their real houses. Otherwise you cannot understand the culture and the soul of those people.

This has to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed in! We stayed at the Riad for 4 nights. The attention to detail is impeccable and the service of the staff is excellent. We absolutely loved everything about the riad. The rooms were immaculate and the staff followed out coming and goings and made sure to clean/make breakfast around our schedule. They waited until they saw our lights go on in the morning to turn the music on, and waited until we went to bed to turn the hall lights off for us. Very good attention to detail.

The room itself was amazing. So lovely. We had a spacious bathroom and very comfortable shower. Literally everything in the room is decorated in some way- even the shower curtain rail, the toilet paper covers and the light switches!

The communal breakfast area is wonderful as well and we were happy to have breakfast every morning there. They changed the linens and flatware daily, so we had something new to look at. The breakfast consists of nice pastries, mint tea (of course), coffee, and yogurt/fruit/egg depending on the day. Everything is fresh, and they ask each night what time you'd like to be served at. so everything comes out nice and warm. For me, the breakfast is very.very sweat, but that is the Moroccan way :)

The terrace on the roof is peaceful and clean- we sat there from time to time reading or playing cards. It is possible to bring alcohol in to the breakfast area or the terrace....just don't be loud and obnoxious about it.

The owner is very friendly and helpful, but she speaks French predominately and only speaks a little English. This does not mean that she will not try to understand you- we communicated everything we needed during our stay without issue (in English and our very bad French). The boys working there were all helpful and went out of their way to be friendly.

The location of the Riad is perfect! We were so happy. It is down a side alley which for the first time can be difficult to find, but after you do it once, you will not forget the way. It is a fast 2 minute walk to the jemaa el fna which was very convenient. Of course there are many shops/cafes along the way, so you will not have any trouble eating/shopping. There is also a small parking lot nearby which was great for airport pickup/drop off, and pickup for tours we booked.

The only thing we did not 100% like was the price/service of the airport pickup/drop off. We booked their service to pick us up when we arrived into Marrakech (for 15 euro) which worked out well because we were tired and didn't know where the Riad was and didn't want to argue with cab drivers about the price.I recommend pickup from the airport. On the way back to the airport though we were told that the same driver and same car would pick us up. We were picked up by a different driver in a different car...which if you know about Marrakech is not ideal. Many people sit in the parking lots claiming to be your driver and you can run into trouble if you are not sure who you are supposed to get in a car with. I was travelling with my husband, but had I been alone I am not sure I would have gotten into the car. The drive to the airport is about 10 minutes- you can get a taxi for about 50dhm...we paid 15 Euro...hmm...

Highly recommenced- I cannot stop talking about this place! When people ask us about our tip to Morocco I immediately tell them first about the beautiful Riad we stayed at :)

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms...we stayed in the one closest to the front desk- it was great.

We were more than pleased with this riad, to be honest we didn't expect this much! Very attentive and professional staff, cosy and very clean rooms, the only thing we are sorry about is that we didn't get to try dining there, I m sure it would be an amazing experience as well :) Highly recommended!

What a charming riad! The owner is very detail oriented and each room is decorated carefully in traditional Marrocan style, and they are exceptionally clean. The lounge area is lovely, and so is the inner courtyard. Breakfast is served individually at your chosen table, and brought out in lovely Marrocan dishes. They even change the cutlery and breakfast each morning, what a treat.
It is quite in the center of tourist attractions, 5-10 minutes each to places such as Jma El Fna, Dar Si Said, the Royal Palace, etc. The owner is very helpful but she only speaks French, so be prepared to have your google translator if you do not speak this language!
If you are arriving late I would advise you to take the hotel's taxi, as navigating to this hotel can be quite daunting, it is not located in google map since it goes through very small alleyways. There are lots of young men around who would like to help you find the hotel - for a price!

Our first stop on Morocco, The Riad has an excellent location close to the Badi Palace and Dar SI Siad museum Jemas El Fna. We loved our beautiful bedroom and its excellent air conditioning. The management is extremely helpful and hospitable , arranging transportation for us in and around the city. We had our best meal the night of our arrival. We highly recommend the lamb with caramelized fruit and vegetables and homemade harissa.

We had an amazing experience right from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was nice and the staff are very very friendly and helpful. This riad is very close to the jemma el fna. I will stay here again if I return to Marrakech one day.

This is a very special spot to stay and have a moment of pause and relaxation after a day at the busiest, chaotic but yet astonishing souks, right in the middle of the Medina, with a superb location (just 5 minutes walk from Jemaa El Fna (Main square) and a magical atmosphere! The Riad is quite colourful, with exquisite Moroccan style with very comfortable and clean rooms. The staff at the Riad is one of a kind, cheerful, service oriented, friendly and always looking for your entire delight and satisfaction! Their food is superb, well presented and very traditional.
They really make you feel like home!We will definitely come to stay with them another time!

Room Tip: Each of their five rooms has its own charm and decoration. Rooms at the first floor are more spacio...
