“Nice but expensive!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

Fantastic hotel right in The Medina. When you go into the hotel is like stepping back couple of a hundred years! Beautiful rooms (some with private terrace), rose garden, & fantastic pool on the roof.
Very relaxed service!

Do not book this hotel if you are planning a special occasion. My sons 21st was the reason we booked this hotel, the reviews looked good and our booking was guaranteed in writing. 6 weeks before we were due to make the trip the hotel called to say they would not honour the booking, they had a better offer and so had decided to dump us and leave us with the problem of finding a suitable alternative.

After a great deal of stress and effort we have found somewhere else and when we requested a gesture by way of compensation the management have not responded to any requests to get in touch with our booking agent (booking.com) to make amends.

If you want to avoid being let down, I suggest you avoid this establishment. They are not trustworthy.

A very disappointing experience.

Room Tip: Avoid this place like the plague !

After the assault on the senses, which is the combined cacophony, of noise, smell, temperature, atmosphere, of the Medina souk, Riad Madani offers the confused and hot traveller a welcome refuge. If you like modern chic, it will not be for you, otherwise, relax and enjoy the antique furnishings, unobtrusive service, beautiful fresh roses and excellent food, if you have breakfast outside in the garden, you may well be sharing your croissant with a local bird, or have a tortoise nudging your toe, the staff will be happy to set your romantic dining table up anywhere you choose for an evening dining experience (set menu) which we will not forget.
Do not be put off by the convoluted and disconcerting route to the 100 year old door in the wall of a Medina alley way, once secure inside, the garden is beautiful, the building is cool, and the roof pool most inviting.

Room Tip: Choose a ground floor garden access room, they are themed; Oriental, African, etc

We recently stayed in this lovely Riad in the heart of the old medina 2 mins walk from main square. The riad is hidden off an alleyway. It has beautiful gardens and the superior rooms were very spacious and full of character; Breakfast is beautifully served on request in the garden ; There is a lovely pool; The owner is sophistictaed Brazilian previously involved in the fashion world in Paris and he knows everything and everyone there is to know in Marrakesh--both he and his staff were incredibly helpful.
It was incredible value and one we would highly recommend who want ot be close to the action--it was so peaceful even although probably next to the busiest part the old medina.
They have their fair share of celebs staying there (Mario Testino; Liz Hurley) who presumably want a more real experience than some of the more corporate/touristy like riads you find
Go for it!

Room Tip: Suggest if you can afford it you pay a little more for one of the superior rooms around the garden

A jewel, only for people with taste and people who estimate a beautiful ancient place. Friendly warm people, rich culture and art. this is a gem. This is the place i stay again the next time, alone or with my friends. The guys who gave 1 point should stay away

Riad Madani is a tranquil paradise hidden within the Marrakech Medina.
Everything about this accommodation is of the highest quality. The Moroccan palace has been so elegantly restored you could confuse yourself for being in the movies. Fresh roses to scent your room and art work that would otherwise be displayed in a gallery. You awake to the sounds of birds that nest in the large secluded gardens within the Riad. Enjoy a filling breakfast of fresh pastries in your own private location within the gardens.
During the day you can venture out to the Square, or just relax by the pool. The staff are professional, attentive and helpful in any questions or assistance you may require during your stay. They can help coordinate cooking classes, Haman or for those slightly more adventurous day trips and Balloon flights.
In the evenings a Dinner within the Riad is a must, as you are spoilt with palatial settings and fine dining which will be one of the best meals you will have in Morocco.
Staying at the Madani will be one of the most memorable parts of your trip and you will find it hard to leave.

Riad Madani is a true Moroccan palace lovingly restored by a distinguished French diplomat. The secluded gardens are among the largest in the Medina. We enjoyed sumptuous breakfasts under the shade of the trees and found it hard to leave the tranquility for the bustle of the Medina outside. For one evening we organized to have a meal at the riad. The attentive staff treated us to a delightful Moroccan/French meal by candle light in one of the many museum-worthy rooms. The terrace swimming pool, genuine artworks throughout, numerous elegant rooms, garden alcoves with traditional decor and marvelous staff, all contribute to a memorable experience. For us it was the highlight of Marrakech.

Room Tip: Our ground floor room opened on to a delightful shaded garden area with tables. Shade in Morocco is...
