Great value for the price. Staff speaks English well. The owner or manager, Abdulah was so service oriented man listened our need what ever we ask for. Location was perfect. Just wish if they can provide us better breakfast.

Room Tip: Only con was breakfast. I wish they can give me better breakfast with eggs, yogurt and fruits. It i...

We stayed at the Riad for four nights in April 2013. We had chosen Riad al Jana because of the raving reviews on trip advisor and the indoor pool. Well, the Riad is at the end of a small, stinky, dark alley and it took us on average 5 minutes waiting to be let in (not nice at nighttime). The pool is in a building next door (which had been freshly painted at the time of our visit and smelled horrible), meaning each time we wanted to swim, we would have to leave the hotel in bikini to walk next door and then wait (in wet bikinis) to be let back inside. We skipped that one. Our room was on the ground floor (and tiny), which was extremely noisy (one night the phone from reception kept ringing non-stop for half an hour - there is no staff visible evenings - until I went and placed the receiver next to the phone. In addition to the noise (you hear everyone at breakfast, in the courtyard, at the door, reception, it's very loud) you need to keep curtains drawn because everyone can see right in. It was freezing cold at night, there were no extra blankets, let alone a stove. when I told the manager (a very arrogant young man full of himself) the following day he acted very surprised that we had been cold, but did provide a stove and extra blankets. The latter had bugs. When we finally checked out at 8am in the morning it took so long for someone to bring our passports (which I had been promised the night before) that we almost missed our train. No one was able - or willing - to arrange for a taxi for us (and a bag-carrier). The breakfast had been set for us the night before (even though kitchen staff arrived at 7am) with hot water in the thermos of course having gotten cold over night. We were happy to leave that place and would have done so earlier if we hadn't pre-paid via the booking company.
I do not understand at all what all this excellent rating of this Riad is all about. There are so many fabulous Riads in Marrakech (for the same price!) - why this one? Unhelpful, incompetent staff, arrogant owner, bugs in the bed...? The courtyard is also tiny and looks nothing like in the pictures - neither does the 'roof terrace'.

My friend and I stayed in a twin room (Green room) during our stay in Marrakech in June after it being recommended by a friend at work. The actual hotel is inside the Medina; we arranged a transfer with the Riad from the Airport which was hassle free.
The staff in the Riad are super helpful. We asked for different breakfast items on the second day, which were provided with a smile. The room was clean and comfortable with air con (a relief in the 47 degree weather!)
We returned to the Riad after going to Imlil and Essaouria and they let us check in early.
A great find and excellent value for money!

If you are up for staying in the middle of the medina, Riad Al Jana is the perfect place! It is clean, it is nice, the staff is super friendly and Abdou (who speaks English fluently) is so very helpful in organizing trips etc.
We felt so welcome here, and would recommend anyone to stay here!

Stayed here for a friend's wedding in May, was delighted with my stay. Stay here if you go to Marrakech!

The place is very clean, and considering the sweltering heat felt in the streets it remained quite cool within the Riad itself, a bonus considering it was 40 degrees outside. Rooms that suffer with daytime sun have air con (mine did). Ask for an air con'd room when you book if you're fussy, but amazingly the buildings really do seem to remain quite cool even during the hot daytime. There's a plunge pool if you seriously need to cool down, but beware it is COLD compared to outside. Nearly gave me a heart attack. Decoratio is authetic, traditional Moroccan with handpainted doors, antiques etc. Has a large roof terrace too ideal for relaxing in the evening or, if you're mental, sunbathing in desert strength sunshine (some of the girls staying with us did this and got sunstroke!).

Staff are very helpful, literally helped with everything possible- even walked me and others to a local restaurant after a late arrival on our first evening in Marrakech, ordered and escorted us to our taxi before our return to London, the younger girl there even offered to carry my suitcase for me! Obviously I carried it myself. The manager speaks perfect English, the children can get by with English but speak French perfectly. Even the cleaners were more than keen to communicate.

The food was amazing, had the best slow cooked lamb tagine imaginable. Plus beer and wine as you want it- something you won't find at most restaurants within the Medina, nor I doubt at many other Riads in the area. Make sure if you stay here you eat in the restaurant, you can advise them what time you want your food so the slow cooking won't be an issue (as it is in many restaurants where after a prompt starter you're waiting 70 minutes for your main!).

Location is great, right in the Medina but not so close as for it to be crazy as soon as you step outside. 5 minutes walk from the main souks, 10 from the main square. Shops to buy water/snacks right outside. Quiet at night, slept as well as you can with an air conditioner on. People shouldn't be moaning about the call to prayer, moan moan moan. You're in Morocco, it happens. The only one that may affect sleep is the 5am one anyway. If you can't get back to sleep to the roof and watch the sunrise, in that heat you'll be having a nap later anyway!

Definitely worth staying here. Great value for money too.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw were lovely! Maybe make sure it's an air con'd room if you're doing...

Great Riad even better people....loved every minute of our stay. The location is right in the centre and you can walk with ease to all the locations you need. We arranged a collection from the airport and had no problems with any part of our holiday....go on try something a little different.

Room Tip: Try the Blue room and book a dinner one night
