“Fantastic in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

Just returned and had a fab time. Abdoul, Saida and Mariam welcomed us and went the extra mile to make our holiday FANTASTIC. The Riad is right in the middle of the old town and is bright and well kept. The bedrooms are well appointed and clean, the food was the best traditional Morrocan food we ate all week Try the brochettes mmm. Did all the visits and recommend: Hammam 1001 nights, Cafe Arabe (just around the corner) trip to Berber village and Le Comptoir Darna at 22:00 stand at the bar (1st floor) have a cocktail and watch the floor show at 22:30 for free! Abdoul was brill helped us to confirm our trips (Isango) and arranged the transfers from/to the airport.

Room Tip: We had the blue room......our twenty something kids the triple room, both good but be aware of the 0...

On a recent trip to Morocco after 5 nights in Essouira my friend and I spent 2 nights at Riad Al Jana in Marrakech.
We found Marrakech to be a frenetic pace after the 5 nights chillng out in Essouira and this Riad was our perfect, beautiful oasis in the heart of the action.
Beautiful rooms (We stayed in the 'Green Room - twin beds) beautiful bathroom.
ALL staff were absolutely wonderful, warm, hospitable, friendly, went out of their way to help us, give us advice, provide us with maps, tips, delicious mint tea! Could not have wished for a more pleasant stay, nothing to much trouble.
Roof terrace is a gem as is the peaceful central seating area with fountain, authentic lamps, tiles, rugs, all just too gorgeous and fantastic value...WHEN we return to Marrakech, we will certainly be returning to Riad Al Jana :-)

Room Tip: All looked beautiful, however, if it is a twin room you are after, as we were, the green Room is the...

I recently spent 5 days at this Riad with a group of 5 friends. The riad is clean and very homely. We enjoyed using the swimming pool, winding down on the terrace at night and the comfort of our rooms which have a toilet and shower. The riad is central and only a 10minute walk from djma al fnaa and the bus stop.

What made our stay here so memorable was the friendliness of the staff and their eagerness to attend to our need, always with a smile.

The manager speaks english and was able to give much needed guidance on excursions, transport and general safety.

All in all definently a place id stay at again, the friendliness and kindness of the staff is amazing.

This beautiful riad is conveniently located right in the middle of the medina near the Koutoubia Mosque. My room was large, comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. The riad itself is a gorgeous oasis in the middle of the madness of the souks. The staff of Riad al Jana were very friendly and welcoming and the food was magnificent and abundant. My only slight negative is that it is not easy to find and being in the middle of the medina a taxi will not be able to take you to the door so you will need to find it on foot; I would advise getting one of the pesky 'guides' to show you the way or arranging with the hotel to have someone meet you at the taxi drop off point.

Room Tip: Get a guide from the taxi drop off point

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2011

We stayed in Riad Al Jana for 3 days in January 2011 and had a very nice time there. The Riad is one minute walk off the Museum of Marrakech and 10 minutes north of the main market square in the heart of the old town.

The Riad is beautifully renovated, clean, and very peaceful. The rooms are very spacious with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. Our room also had an additional electrical heater for the bath room and two blankets which were useful for January and its 45 Fahrenheit night time temperatures, though day time temperatures were always around 74 Fahrenheit and felt much hotter due to the beautiful sunshine. There is a very nice roof terrace on top of the building from which you can admire stunning sunsets. Also, you can either have breakfast or additionally enjoy dinner in the dining room. Finally, there is free and fast WIFI in the building and we were able to access it from within the room.

Apart from the prayer calls of the nearby mosque, we enjoyed absolute quietness. The shower was very hot and easy to regulate if you prefer cooler temperatures. Also, the breakfast was good - ask for the Barerire, a sweet pancake and local speciality. The staff was very friendly and helpful as they found a good driver to take us to the Ourika Valley and its waterfalls on a day trip.

When you first go to the hotel, ask one of the local guides or your taxi driver to show you the way as it is about a 4 minute walk off the closest taxi accessible street since most of the old town has small roads.

This Riad comes highly recommended.

We had a very pleasant stay in Riad Al Jana, all the staff is extremely nice and helpful. It is quite hard to find by yourself, just in the heart of Medina, but with the "interested" help of some moroccan guy you will quickly reach it. Rooms are very clean and big enough, the decoration is simple but elegant and looked like veri typical. the bathroom is big. The breakfast is abundant enough and the woman in the kitchen always prepares something new, and she will be delighted to tell you the story behind any moroccan speciality that she serves you. As the riad is quite close to the Ben Youssef Mosque you will hear the muezzin calling for pray every morning at 5:00 ...but me, I liked it! Definitely, we had a really nice stay and we strongly reccommend it to other travellers.
