Just returned from a 4 night stay at this Riad booked pretty much unseen and were not disappointed. When you arrive late as we did it can look nothing from the outside (as most do) but inside you cant help but be amazed by the space and size behind the doors!

It is very centrally located to all the main areas in the old town which are in fairly easy walking distance including the must see (day and night) Djemaa el Fna Square which leads to the Souks

The rooms which all face inwards are basic but clean and tidy with nice showers (no baths we could see) - A small criticsm is the poor lighting and slightly noisy air-con (oh and we needed to ask for extra hand towel and pillows but thats being picky.

All the staff in every part of the Riad are so friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. They could not do enough for us and always with a smile. They even got one of the staff to show us the way to a restaurant that you could not get to by either car or by horse. It was a good 10-15 min walk! They also arranged a great deal with a minivan and driver to our lunch at Kasbah Tamadout.

Breakfast was a bit basic and haphazard but if you ask nicely you can get some eggs/omlettes
We would certainly use the Riad Bahia Salam again so we would highly recommend to anyone coming to Marrakech. Looks like they are adding a swimming pool of the roof terrace which will make it even better.

(Make sure you book a guide for the Souks! - See review of Marrakech Private Tours - Excellent)

Room Tip: Ground or 1st floors best as there is no lift

we booked a four night stay at the riad and were not disappointed.

the romms are ok with nice showers- only small criticsm is that the rooms could do with better lighting.

highly recommend to anyone coming to marrakech.

An authentic way to experience the real Marrakech, clean, quiet with friendly helpful staff. Central location on the edge of the souk and close to good authentic restaurants and bars (vital as riad is "dry"! )! Loved it.

On arrival, you wouldn't be filled with confidence of the facade and the surrounding area, but once you enter the Riad Bahia Salam it is a whole new world.
The staff are warm, helpful and friendly and it is conveniently located in the heart of Marrakech Medina near to Djemma El Fna (less than 5 minutes walk away).
Breakfast is inclusive and is wonderfully set on the roof terrace. When we had dietary requests, they accommodated accordingly.
It is a basic Riad but feels like a relaxation retreat.
I didn't visit the Spa, but my only wish is that there was a pool to escape to in the scorching midday sun.

This Riad is not much to look at from outside but is beautifully and traditioanlly decorated inside with wonderful rooms and a roof terrace with fantastic views that gives you a great perspective of the city. It's ideally located within walking distance of everything you could wish to see and the staff are friendly. We even ate there a couple of times as the food was really good and reasonably priced. After the madness of Marrakesh it was really nice to have somewhere within walking distance that you could come back to and feel relaxed. The staff also booked us a taxi to the airport and put on an early breakfast as we were leaving before usual breakfast hours. Could not have wished for a better Riad for our first visit to Marrakesh. Would strongly recommed to others.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be close to the center of Marrakesh and who wants to spend a relaxing holiday. Bahia Salam provided me the relaxation I needed- great staff, beautiful hotel and great location! I am usually the complaining type- but I have nothing to say against this little treasure ... oh and when you are there, ask for "Hassan"! Great guy!
