“Very relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

Lovely Riad, literally 2 minutes from Jemaa el Fna. Can be quite difficult to find at first so either arrange to meet a member of staff in the square or prepare to pay a "guide" to show you where it is (we ended up doing the latter and paid 80Dh!)
Even though it is so close to the main square, it is very quiet and relaxing, excellent views of the city and mountains from the rooftop sun terrace, breakfast was simple but very tasty and filling
Very clean, friendly staff, lovely decor, would recommend :)

The atmosphere of the riad is inspiring and full of charm. The terrace has an amazing view of the roofs of the ancient city. I had my yoga session there at the sunset time! The room was fabulous and the staff extremely kind. Joseph, the director, suggested me some tips on where to have dinner in the city or to rent a car for a day-trip to Essaouira. Very nicely, located in the ancient Medina, at 2 minutes from Jeema el Fna, the riad is very quiet and silent. But strategic for a full immersion in the ancient city. I will visit again the riad as soon as possible with my friends :-)!

We were looking for a Riad near Jemaa el Fna square and we found this lovely Riad. It is a 3 minutes from Jemaa el Fna, really!!!!. The Riad is simple, clean, beautiful decoration, great terrasse that permit you listen the sounds of the city. And a DELICIOUS BREAKFAST: natural orange juice, coffe or tea, cheese, butter, and the best is the warm and great bread and the fantastic mermalade.

If your anything like us, if you travel to Morocco & more to the point Marrakech, you need a nice calm hide out to reflect on your days experiences! Marrakiss provides this in the form of the sun deck overlooking roof tops of the old part of the city soaks. Like other travellers we were collected from the airport by taxi and transfer to Josef once we got into the souks for a short walk to the raid. It was a little daunting with the hustle and bustle but chucks you into the deep end. The Raid is clean, friendly, and well located. Don’t hold out too much for the breakfast though as its just coffee, a few slices of bread with a cheese triangle, but there again you’re not paying that much.
1st point to mention, when travelling to Marrakech, if you like to unwind with a drink during the evening make sure you pick some up in duty free as alcohol is sparse.
Recommend eat outs include cafe Arab, cafe des espices, terrasse dea espices all of which are in the souks. These are a little more expensive but do serve alcohol and are a nice chilled out atmosphere.
Note this Riad does not have a pool, and neither do many in Marrakech apart from the larger hotels in the newer part of the city.

We stayed at Riad Marrakiss for 3 nights at the end of April and loved it! Josef picked us up at the airport and its a good job he did because we would never have found the riad ourselves. You step out of the madness of the market place into the calm of the riad. Cosy rooms with authentic touches for a true taste of Marrakech. Plenty of hot water & lovely powerful shower. Breakfast was simple but delicious, orange juice to die for. Lovely sun terrrace to relax on & listen to the hustle & bustle of the square in the distance. Many thanks to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable, hopefully we will be back one day,

We wanted a totally different experience in Marrakesh away from the westernised hotels and so booked this Riad in the northern medina for a week using the Tripadvisor reviews.

Modest and tastefully decorated I felt as though I was on the set of the Sheltering Sky. It is just a five minute walk from the Jemaa el Fna and Jozef can recommend all the places for eating on a budget. Has a nice sun terrace, free wifi and laundry service if you need it.

We left with a great impression of Marrakesh and Morocco and would come again.

I have just come back after a four day stay in riad marrakiss. The hotel is a nice place to stay located just off the main square it can be difficult to find you should take a map with you if your going to ask for directions don't ask for hotel marrakiss it's in the wrong direction don't pay more then 150 dirhams for the taxi ride to the hotel the taxi won't take u to the hotel but only to the main square and exchange any money you want at the marrakech airport you get a better rate of your booking an excursion ask what is included guides etc when having a meal in the square chose off the menu otherwise it will be a very expensive dinner always agree a price before you do anything the hotel was clean and addiquate but in addition to the cost of booking the room you have to pay a tax of 23 dirhams per person per night it's about 2 pounds fifty a night they looked after us breakfast is included but is bread and coffee or orange they were trust worthy and looked after us amd our baggage the manager even pointed out an over payment after us t
