We have just come back from 4 days in Marrakesh. We booked this riad because it was within our budget and we wanted a family room. If you are offered the above room for 4, don't take it. The fact that you can wedge in 4 beds does not make it a family room. We did also see the Idrissedes room however which is also a family room and much more spacious with a proper bathroom, choose that one instead.
We pre booked a taxi both to and from the airport. Much more than you will pay if you do it locally, but worth it in my view as it saves any hassle. The riad itself is french owned, and according to hotel staff seems to be the case of most Marrakesh property as locals cant afford to buy it. The two lads who worked the reception work ridiculous hours for 300 euro a month, yet were the happiest lads I've met.
The riad is well located, although you cant go wrong anywhere within the medina as it so small and walk-able. It feels like its down an alley, but its actually on a main drag and a 10 minute walk to the main square. The food-stalls in the main square offer great food. We ate there every night including the kids and nobody was ill.
The breakfast at the Riad is carbohydrates in every imaginable form, but the orange juice is fresh and the coffee great. Dont have high expectations for breakfast. Mint tea is available whenever you want it, but it wasn't to our taste. Bring some tea bags with you if you miss a cuppa either in the morning or afternoon. There is a sun terrace on the roof, and the TV has English news channels. All in all I would say the staff are fabulous and welcoming, the riad nice, but I'm sure there is better to be had. We enjoyed, but wouldn't go back as our room was cramped having to climb over beds to get to a tiny bathroom. Room fine if only 2 of you.
