Hello! I stayed here in July 2014 with a friend. We booked through Broadway travel , on a budget . To be honest, we didn't expect the hotel to be beautiful!! But we was surprised by the stunning lobby , the green gardens. It had that impressive Moroccan deco. It was my third time in Marrakech. And this hotel is great!
The rooms are big and specious, cleaned everyday. Towels were always changed. The staff were always helpful . The pool area is beautiful, with enough sun beds, but could do with some more parasols! The heat was unbearable, and very uncomfortable to sit on a sun bed without any shade!
The bar staff by the pool side were very pleasant, apart from the ones in the cosy bar . The cosy bar staff will always try to ration the drinks. They lied that drinks run out, and served the French after you! I did find this very disrespectful indeed! They served the adults and the kids with plastic cups! Ones you find in kid's parties! Very unprofessional lot! The hotel is supposed to be all inclusive, but the bar shuts by 22:45 every night. We were always forced to buy drinks after this hour , which is unfair.
The entertainment is crap! Been to better all inclusive with much inclusive and fun entertainments!
I said , ' not inclusive ' because it only catered for the French! An incident happened one evening, whereby the animation was performing in French, and we didn't understand what was going on, and basically we was told to leave if we ain't French! Very few English speaking in this hotel.
The food is ok, there was always something to eat , though the breakfast need to be varied. The food was not hot enough , try and get there as soon as possible to enjoy your meal. Drinks were available, but water you had to buy! There are few water dispensers , but you are not allowed to fill up your bottles. The hotel would benefit from water , ice cream and ice making facilities if they want the customers back! It's ridiculous to go thirsty in the scorching hot weather in July!
The excursions are great. Go on the Atlas Mountains, and the fantasia! Both amazing. Do not do the souks, it's rushed , you can do all the rest by yourself . The guides will try and take you to more tourists shops to rip you off! Haggle at the souks. And have fun. At your own time and space .
Over fall, I had an amazing time. Made great friends, I don't mind going back yo this hotel, if an offer comes along, after all, you get what you pay for..... Have fun enjoy Marrakech x
