“A home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2012

This was our first family trip to Marrakech and booked Ksar Anika after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. From the moment we stepped into the Riad, we were made to feel very welcome by Abderrazak and the rest of the courteous staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they arranged everything for us, from booking and advising us on local restaurants to day trips to see the best of Marrakech in the few days that we had. The service was second to none with excellent and well presented fresh cuisine. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing and décor was very stylish. Our suite was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed sunbathing on the spacious roof terrace in the afternoons, where complementary mint tea was always offered. We will definitely return to Ksar Anika and feel we have a home from home in Marrakech.

My family and I have just returned from a two week independent tour of Morocco, during which we spent two nights at the beginning and two nights at the end at Ksar Anika (accommodation was booked through Prestige Holidays).
Having travelled extensively throughout the world (plus I have been in the travel business for over 25 years) I can honestly say this was one of the most unique and special properties I have every stayed in.
Ksar Anika is a very beautiful Riad (Moroccan House) and not a formal 05 star hotel with the facilities you would expect from the latter. Therefore it perfectly reflects the culture and feel of Morocco and Marrakech, with a splash of luxury. The best way to describe it would be a 'boutique' riad with sublime architecture, furnishings, great taste - and an oasis from the mad hustle and bustle of Marrakech - perfect base. The bedrooms were extremely well appointed, with fab bathroom facilities, robes and cream/shampoos etc. Breakfast was one of the best I have experienced anywhere, served in an extremely elegant fashion and using excellent local produce. The staff were friendly, attentive, yet discreet - at all times.
Upon arrival we were welcomed with the traditional mint tea and biscuits sitting around the lovely pool area - and what a setting! After another 10 days travelling over to the desert and the coast we were delighted to return to Ksar Anika - in fact we returned a day earlier than planned...
If Marrakech is the right destination for you ( having read the last review I can only assume the reader has made the wrong choice) and you are looking for a top 'Riad Experience' then Ksar Anika is perfect. We wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to friends, and this not only includes myself and my wife but also our 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter who loved it!

Really disappointed. This trip cost several thousand £, highly recommended... the reality however ...
Security guard on the door, no one on reception , enlgish not spoken by most and poor when they do
Cant get anything to eat or drink
Front door locked all the time ...
When asked the reception to help with reservatins, didnt understand , didnt do it ... really struggled...
Gym, a bike/treadmil and covered in cushions from pool furniture... and rust!
Spa , a small room , no facitlities...
View from the roof top, squallor, rubbish on the rooms immediately nearby
In fact stayed 48 hours and flew back three days early !!!! Awefull......

Room Tip: dont go, its like being in prison

Great welcome from friendly and very helpful staff. We arrived late in the evening and were escorted to a restaurant and collected afterwards as we were not yet orientated. Lovely large room, quiet and clean with private terrace onto plunge pool- it was December so we didn't use it! Easy 10 min walk to main square, really close to the beautiful Palais Bahia in a lovely quiet area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our seven night stay in this riad. Staff unfailingly attentive ..special mention of Raschid, or the Genie as we called him, because he was always there when you needed him! Dined in on a couple of nights and the setting was superb, the food adequate. Breakfast was a daily pleasure, the coffee was a delight. Rooms very high quality, my wife was very impressed with the toiletries provided. Decor everywhere is superb. The walk to the main square became wearing, but we were there for a prolonged stay, and we did discover a couple of restaurants close by which were excellent. All in all very happy to recommend this riad.

We had a glorious holiday at this hotel, which was a wonderful place to stay: a real haven from the hurly burly of the city outside its walls; in the Medina but cool and calm. The staff were kind and helpful; the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The roof terrace was a lovely place to enjoy the morning sunshine and gave us good views across the city to the Atlas Mountains in the distance.

Above all the hotel building is a work of art, reflecting the local style and values in its stone and tile work. A memorable place to stay when in Marrakesh.

We loved the Ksar Anika and cannot fault it in any way, It is beautifully decorated, and all was perfect, it is amazingly quiet and the first night we ate in which was excellent. It was delicious and the staff all so helpful and sweet. Breakfast is beautifully presented and can be outside by the pool or in the bar and so much to eat including eggs cooked to order. The bedrooms are wonderful and pool area very comfortable. We were there the end of March 2012 and it was very hot but inside the Riad beautifully cool. We often took a taxi to get to the souks and sights but they are so cheap compared with the UK and taxi dfrivers helpful also. We had a wonderful time and can unreservedly recommend this wonderful Riad. From Isobel K

Room Tip: Rooms on the inside of the courtyard are so quiet you sleep like a log.
