“Quiet Friendly Place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

The hotel has two riyads and you might be taken to the secondary location which is connected with the main one. It is located in a quiet alley and is very pleasant. The staff is very polite, the rooms have individual Air conditioners which is a blessing.
The rooms are very small as you can see from pictures and there is hardly much room to move around the bed and in bath/toilet. However most riyads will have this problem and you will be lucky to get a cheap large bedroom. The breakfast is good and the main square is only a 5 min walking distance.
My sleep was not great as the bed was metal frame and rather creaky and wobbly on its base.
Good value cheap clean and quiet place.
But really thats what most of riyds are in Marrakesh.

My husband thought this one of our nicest overseas accommodations! We booked airport transfers through the riad, and the travel arrangements were efficient and fairly priced. At 21:00 hrs. we might never have found our own way there, through a warren of deserted passageways. However, the riad is actually only steps from the Jemaa, and a short walk to the Bahai Palace.

Once through the front door, peace reigned. We were treated to mint tea & nibbles as we completed paperwork before being shown to our gorgeous room, large & airy, with linen and towels bearing the crown motif. Mohamed, the manager, was always on hand to offer advice, answer questions, or fulfil requests. The continental breakfasts were delicious, served in a beautiful dining room or up on the rooftop terrace, with bistro tables or couches on which to recline. Centrally located, clean and attractive, we have nothing but praise for this riad that helped make our stay so enjoyable.

Room Tip: Our upgraded Lalla Leila room was superb!

When i heard from my friends that we will stay ina riad instead of in a hotel i was really wirry since this is my first time to Marrakech especially when the driver dud not show up at the airport due to misunerstanding on the booking and the small road to find this hidden riad ... I almost decided to leave and rebooked to other hotel untill arrived at the very nice riad .. The staffs were amazing , the hamman was not that great .. But the breakfast .. Was the best i have ever had !! Served on the sunny rooftop !! And the girls who have had to climb the small stairs was really nice and always smiling .. I was sick on the second day and they have brought me my breakfst for 1 in bed -:) everything was fresh and they took really good care of me !! Location just arround the corner from the market square where you can easily find a good place to eat !! For sure wirth the money and i will for deffi book this place again ... Cheers

We found peace and tranquility amidst our great adventures in Marrakech at Riad et Palais des Princesses. We were greeted at the airport by a wonderful taxi driver prearranged courtesy of the Riad. Upon arriving to the world famous Jemaa el Fna square in the Medina we took a short walk to our gorgeous oasis. We met Abdul and his staff and they were ready to accommodate our every need. In traditional Moroccan style we were served delicious mint tea and cookies as we enjoyed the breathtaking courtyard complete with a beautiful fountain, charming architecture and rose petals galore. We were relieved to have found such a spectacular jewel! Our room was clean, spacious and looked even better than the pictures. The staff was warm and treated us as family. As a matter of fact we were fortunate enough to connect with one of Abdul's friends Kamaal with whom we had many enlightening discussions about Moroccan history and culture. One night Kamaal was ever so gracious to arrange a traditional home cooked meal by his very own mother. We were delighted and forever touched by this kind gesture. How awesome!

Every morning we were thrilled to wake up to delicious Moroccan pancakes, assorted pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice and eggs. The sun terrace is beautiful and the Riad on a whole feels safe and protected. We got a chance to check out a few different rooms and they each had an individual character about them. Abdul was very informative and can arrange day trips for you that you know are legit. He was also very kind to our 5 year old daughter and that's always a plus! And the hammam is surely not to be missed as it is quite a unique and soothing experience.

When we return to Morocco we will definitely stay here again!

The riad was situated directly nect to place jemma el fna, in a small alley, where it was very quiet. It was perfectly clean, the cleaning women were around all day and made sure everything looked perfect (rose petals on the beds,...). The rooms had a very nice interior, a mixture between moroccan and french style. The rooftop terrace was the most amazing thing, though! You overlook the whole city, while still being in a clean, nice and quiet atmosphere. (You can even take your breakfast up there). The staff was very nice too. Whenever we needed something, the hotel manager did not hesitate to organise it for us (he even bought us traintickets to fes and organised us a great day in the mountains with a private guide and driver for only 40 euro). The breakfast was very good, typically moroccan, with moroccan pancakes, eggs, bread, freshly pressed orange juice...

All in all, I think it was one of the best hotels I ever stayed in, especially the staff is invaluable!!

We stayed in the Riad Palais des Princesses for about 10 days. This is a beautiful riad and has excellent and helpful staff. I had left my laptop in the taxi and due to the perwsistence of the hotel manager, I got it back. It was unbelievable that he took my case so much to heart. The riad is owned by a Frenchman, who just owns it for pleasure. It has a beautiful terrasse on the top of the hotel from where you can hear the call for prayer from many directions. The price was very reasonable: E 100 per day for three people. I can warmly recommend it.

The riad is located in the Medina, the old city and very close to the Jemma el Fna.

Like you i like to read the reviews good and bad before booking. With the exception of one, who reported a theft. All said the Riad was amazing, an oasis, best location, clean and wonderfull helpfull staff. totally agree with them all, the rooms are great but i would avoid the ground floor ones for two reasons, one your at the bottom of the courtyard and the natural light is only good around midday. Two, although signs do request a silent area between 10pm 8am people wiil say their goodnights etc once they reach the courtyard which is pretty much outside your door. Back to the theft issue we had three rooms (6 adults) none of us felt this was a problem but each room had a safe you only had to ask for the key no charge. My concern was finding the place, easy once you know its only one left turn and one right turn after leaving the square. the best map is on the webb site of PepeNero restaurant which is out the back door of the Riad top place £80 with wine very special service. Anyway you want Zitoun el kadim walk way lookout for the nutters on mopeds. from the square look for Cafe Balcon de glazier beyond which in the corner you will find an arch this is the start of the walkway third passage on left, look high above you for the sign RIAD des PRINCESSES follow the passage beyond the mosque as it widens turn righ another sign to guide you your home. taxis can drop you at the cafe but after 1pm not allowed in square so a bit futher to carry or drag your case. if you phone the Riad they will send someone to meet you by the arch.
