Gives an insight into the history and culture of Morooco, entrance fee a bit too much for what you get to see, but a worthwhile visit.

“well worth a visit”

Lovely little museum. The photos of Berber life were especially evocative. The terrace cafe has excellent food and one of the best views of Marrakech to be had.

“An oasis of culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

This beautiful and interesting little museum is one of the highlights of Marrakech - don't miss it, it's worth every dirham! The ticket seller is an extremely friendly chap and a mine of information on everything in Marrakech. Very nice that you can come back as many times as you want with same ticket!

“A glimpse into history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

A beautiful old house is home to this super collection of historic photographs of Morocco.

From a photographic perspective the images and their stories are fascinating. The real interest for most folk I think is that they show a little glimpse of old Morocco and how people lived, dressed, worked and played.
There is also an excellent colour movie film which shows the history of tribal farmers.

At the top of the building you can eat and get a drink as well as take in the view across Marrakech. The loo is very clean.

Definately worth a visit.

“Great little escape from the busy medina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Although the museum is quite small, there are some beautiful pictures on display that are really interesting. We loved to see the pictures that showed Marrakech in the 1920s a lot of streets havent changed a bit!
The building itself is beautiful and quiet, its a perfect escape from the busy city!
We also bought 2 prints of pictures so if you're looking for some interesting souvenirs take a look here.

The only thing i would fault is the roof terrace; although it looks lovely the service was appalling - after a 30 mins wait without even being seen by a waiter, let alone having a drink order taken, we (amongst with a lot of other people) left.

All in all go there to see the beautiful pictures, and visit the lovely Cafe Arabe nearby for lunch or drinks afterwards.
