“Tricky to find, but worth the effort”

The photos in this small museum are wonderful, you can purchase prints. The cafe on the rooftop has great views too, and the loo is really clean!

“Incredible”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

We visited the Maison de Photographie at the suggestion of Mandy at Dar Hanane. This small museum was opened just three years ago and features some great vintage photos of Morocco. If you have spent some time in other parts of Morocco or the medina in Marrakech, you will marvel at how little has changed.

They have some lovely prints of the photographs for sale-250 dhs.

“Beautiful place, but small”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

As an amateur photographer I was expecting more. But the museum is very nice, well maintained and has very nice pictures showing the history of Morocco. If you like photography don't miss. And take a quick look on the view from the top of the museum.

“Peaceful, interesting, informative. Nice lunch with a view.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Visited with my boyfriend in March 2013. The best museum we visited in Marrakech. Well laid out out, and with information at regular points adding to the beautiful photography on display. Information available in English, which seems quite unusual in Marrakech's museums. Interesting film footage of hill/ mountain villages from the 1950s. Also, a lovely terrace restaurant, with a fabulous view over the city to the Atlas mountains. Lunch was a set menu which included a salad, chicken tagine with couscous, followed by set yogurt with strawberries. Food was good, but not the best tagine we ate. Also a little expensive at 80 MAD per person for the set menu before drinks.

“work out where it is first”

Great museum of photography capturing Morocco since the end of the 1800s. Friendly, but it was tough to find without the 'help' of self appointed guides
