“A pure palace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2010

My friend and I stayed in this beautiful riad for two nights. Although almost impossible to find on your first visit, it is actually well located. Down the long alleys - left - right - left -right no windows on the outside we were quite worried but once we stepped inside it's true beauty revealed itself. The inner courtyard is so pretty, we were greeted by mint tea and a nice chat before we went upstairs and set eyes on our royal suite. We stayed in the Sapphire suite which had a beautiful four poster bed and two twin beds, the room with stain glass windows a large colourful bathroom and the most comfortable room made our stay in Marrakech perfect.
The outside terrace on top is also so pretty that is where we were served breakfast and dinner before we were treated to a very entertaining belly dancing show. The whole stay was so very enjoyable and the family who run this riad are lovely. This place comes from highly recommended - stop your search and book this place.

I actually had the opportunity to be in two of Samira's riads.Samira will always receive you with a gorgeous smile! I have to say I am very pleased that I shared this very happy time of my life with Samira, her brothers and sisters, Khadija and, of course, Fatima. If you are looking for cosiness and an intimate place, but still want to be at a 3-minutes-walk from Djamaa el Fna and very near from some of the best souks (markets) in town, Riad ZEHAR should be your choice. Do not even think about missing the gourgeous breakfast and its eggs with cumin, made by sweetest Fatima. If you are looking for luxury and a movie scenery, go to Reves d'Orient, the other riad of the family, in the same alley, where you may try a rich moutton tajine... you might be lucky to see the gorgeous Samira herself doing some bellydancing.

It is a beautifully maintained boutique hotel in the heart of the medina. Very close to the souks and the main square, the riad is a wonderful place to wind down after the daily craziness of Marrakech. It was extremely easy to make reservations and Samira was more than helpful in planning our stay in Marrakech, which was spread over a week with breaks, since we went into the Atlas mountains and the Shahara. The riad is beautifully decorated and has a very traditional vibe, which is way more welcoming than any of the larger chain type hotels in the new town. The initial walk to the riad, through the winding streets of the medina can be a little intimidating, but once familiar, it is actually a lot of fun. We stayed in the sapphire suite, which is one of their biggest rooms and everything was just perfect. The staff was incredibly helpful and very warm. The morning breakfast and the late night jacuzzi in the terrace just adds a lovely touch to the whole experience.

We spent four days at this lovely Riad. It is located in a quiet area of the medina and was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle. Samira and her family are more than gracious and are very welcoming. The decor and furnishings were obviously carefully selected and give the guest a true feeling of Morocco. Breakfast and dinner on the rooftop terrace were delicious and were served with a beautiful smile. For a true Riad experience, hosted by lovely people, this is the place to go.

I stayed with friends in the Saphir suite of the riad, and we were bowled over from the moment the chic and lovey manager Samira showed us in. The place is certainly gorgous - courtyard, roses, rooftop terrace, rooms sumptiously and evocatively decorated. The warm fuzzies generated by the place itself were matched by the excellent and personal service we received during our stay. We got help with everything we needed, and enjoyed dining on the terrace one night. We'd all highly recommend this riad; it was just the ticket for an exotic and pampered escape and the cost was quite reasonable given the quality and level of service.

We found this Riad to be in a great location with a friendly and caring staff. Our tour guide, Lahcen with Around Morocco Tours booked this Riad for three nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The manager, Samira was very accommodating and prepared a wonderful meal for us which included belly dancing! My 10 year old son thought it was pretty cool.
