“Excellent place, perfect location, lovely hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

The riad was awesome! Samira and her staff were beyond unbelievable. The rooms were spacious, the rooftop was gorgeous and everything was just as perfect as it could be. The place was inside the Medina which made it very easy for us to travel throughout the city during our trip. The staff was very accommodating and we were treated to a home cooked meal and a belly-dancing show. Anyone visiting Marrakech should definitely consider staying here... I know we will the next time we come back.

Good located in the Medina, very helpful and polite people. Great food in the evening. The terrace on the roof is stunning, very comfortable, with sofas. Samira is a very helpful and professional. She has many contacts to make your stay delightful, such as a chauffeur and city guide, also very professional and kind people. The rooms are comfortable.

We spend five days in reve d órient and it was a great time. We had so much fun and found really good friends. The atmosphere in the riad was warm and friendly. Many events were organised for the guests. Cookingcourse in the morning and ballydance in the evenig. The dinner was prepared freshly with regional food and served by the staff in a very beautiful diningroom. We also had beer and wine during the meal. If you wanted to make a trip in the dessert or another outing, guidance was organised the day before. Our holiday was a dream.

We stayed here for four days in March.

The property is a large house converted into a b and b (the word hotel is too grand). Located at the end of an impenetrable passage in the Medina, the Reves seems to offer a glamorous and luxurious stay, but doesnt. The location means that there is no ambient noise (but see below...).

The house is a square block with a ground, first, and roof floor. On the ground floor is a very small courtyard with a fountain (not working when we were there), with a kitchen and massage room off. A sitting room with a tv is also there. No external windows.
On the first floor are four rooms off a gallery, which looks down onto the courtyard.

Our room:
Small - about a hundred square feet. No external windows. windows open onto the internal gallery and courtyard. The bed was moderately comfortable. The bathroom is simply a shower and lavatory alcove off the bedroom, with no door of its own. There is very little privacy all round - any noise from your room will carry past the thin and not fitted door into the courtyard. If you shut the (thin) door you will feel stifled. We didnt feel private at all here.

The roof:
The roof is about a thousand square feet, with a 300 square foot opening to the courtyard and gallery below. The roof has a nice shaded sofa'd area, some sun beds, and a handful of dining tables. This is the nicest area of the riad. However it is not large, and a quarter of the roof is taken up with the riad's laundry and aircon plant, so there is a lot of unnecessary ambient noise. The roof is charismatic, though, giving a fine roofscape of the Medina.

Food:
Breakfast on the roof is pleasant - bread, jam, rather exotically fried eggs. We had a lunch there too, which was well done and very nice indeed. Bring your own booze (which they will chill for you).

Staff:
Enthusiastic but far from competent.

Value:
Terrible. We paid about £180 a night - more than for a five star hotel room in a major city. I would certainly not return.

Note:
If you stay here, you must get met at the airport. It is almost impossible to find the reves even with a map and google earth.

When we booked our trip to Morocco, we didn’t know what to expect. We were excited with a dash of uncertainty. After reviewing almost 200 posts through TripAdvisor, we decided Riad Reves D’orient was the best fit, and indeed it was.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the most delicious mint tea. Samira, the owner was very hospitable. She provided us information about the Medina and ideas of day tours. Breakfast at the Riad was the best among all the riads we stayed in morocco. Moreover, the riad offerred a beautiful roof top view. Hot water may not be a big deal for some people, but it was important for us given the weather in march wasn’t particular warm. Reves didn’t have any hot water limit, nor max temperature threshold. We always had hot showers at the end of each day-excursion. Riad Reves D’orient was an intimate, welcoming, beautiful place to stay in Marrakech. We became friends with Samira and Manuel (assistant manager) and hope to stay friends for many years to come. :-)

Myself and my 3 old school friends (we're all 56) spent a wonderful 4 nights 13th - 17th march 2012
at this great Riad. From the moment we arrived until we left, Samira and her staff treated us with impeccable servive and friendliness! Nothing was to much trouble! Every afternoon and evening we spent up on the terrace where we were waited on our every need! Although March Samira turned the hot tub on in the morning so that it was ready to enjoy on our return after a busy day shopping and site seeing. The Riad its self is beautiful and well decorated and set down a mirriad of alleyways, an oasis of tranquility only minutes from the busy main square. I recommend this Riad to anyone and I will definately go back again, next time with my husband.

Room Tip: We were four friends and The Saphir suite was perfect for us.
